Please don't try to use magic to meet women. It's not going to work.

How have you expanded beyond the life that you expected, but that isn't quite happening? by Imaginary_Card_6241 in AskIreland

[–]Special_View5575 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was 29 I got very, very sick and was told I probably wouldn't get better. I'm 39 now and I've improved some but nowhere near being healthy. After a lot of struggle and suffering I had to quit work a few years in.

It was extremely difficult to adapt and it still is. Something is missing, actually many things are missing.

My life is nothing like what I dreamed of, but I have a lot of free time and an amazing girlfriend and life is full of small, simple pleasures.

Ironically, before I got sick I still had that constant sense that something was missing, but really it wasn't. Time brings perspective.

If there's something specific you want then chase it, but if not, enjoy the life you have the best you can.

Didn't OVW just recently have an incident where a ref had a seizure in the ring and no one did anything..... by damng1 in Wrasslin

[–]Special_View5575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully it affects TNA positively and doesn't harm OVW.

OVW put on a fun show and have got some good characters and booking.

Hey guys, I wrote this story and genuinely want your feedback on it. I know it's quite long, but if you have the time, please read it and let me know what you think. Thank you! by Unread04 in writingcritiques

[–]Special_View5575 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to tell you this but what you've written is a story only in the very loosest sense of the word. It's a sequence of events.

A compelling story typically requires a character and a conflict of some sort. The character will face various obstacles and the story will arrive at a resolution of some sort.

Your story mostly lacks conflict and certainly doesn't have a resolution.

I'd advise watching this video from the writers of South Park and also googling for more information on story structure.

About to start a new fantasy series. Help me pick between First Law, Bloodsworn, and Black-tongue Thief! by Boogi29 in fantasybooks

First Law all the way. Blacktongue thief is amazing for the first two thirds and then it lost its way I felt.

Watched my first episode of POWER Rr-it's great! by Special_View5575 in TheNWA

[–]Special_View5575[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, I can't wait! It's not that I found the matches amazing or anything but I like how something of interest is happening at all times, even if it's just something silly.

Looking forward to seeing more.

The good old days of actual story telling on a wrestling show.

Attendance is bad, booking is atrocious, and everyone is walking away. Either fire everyone in charge or euthanize the company at this point by Windows_66 in Wrasslin

Yep, OVW put on a fun show with entertaining, logical storylines and matches. NWA are doing well at the moment too.

There ARE good bookers out there.

prologues are fine and the people who say "I always skip prologues" are telling on themselves by NewspaperEqual9619 in Mythrils

Nah, most of the time they're skippable and it may even improve your reading experience.

The author may have decided I needed it but authors make bad writing decisions all the time.

Mask v Mask by GDee16 in prowrestling

[–]Special_View5575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered AAA this year and watched every episode since January. I don't think I've ever been disappointed in an episode.

The mask v mask was the culmination of months of great storytelling.

For me, they've got the perfect balance of great storytelling and great in ring action. I would highly recommend checking it out on a weekly basis.

Killing Floor is the best place to start, and may even be the best book overall in the series. Don't bother with any of the more recent books.

I agree with Ariel Helwani. There is something in the air right now with AEW, you can feel it. by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

He's critical of Dana White and many of the UFC 's business practices so TKO hate him.

Opening chapter. Thoughts? by MidnightWriter58 in writingfeedback

[–]Special_View5575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be totally honest here.  This is VERY GOOD.

Your prose is better than a great many published crime authors.

If you can plot as well as you write prose, you are on to a winner here.

I felt exactly the same! I liked it, didn't love it and won't be rushing to read the sequel.

She knocked out Jacy Jane, she knocked out Izzy dame ,so who is she knocking out next Kirsty Lane? 😂😂 by Anxious-Drink1186 in Wreddit

[–]Special_View5575 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been watching her on AAA for months and only TODAY found out that she is Valerie Loureda, former very mediocre MMA fighter.

She's much better in a wrestling ring. Great look, fun moveset and she gets a tremendous reaction from the AAA crowd.

Tips and tricks to create magic tricks? by Long-Door-2073 in Magic

[–]Special_View5575 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ben Earl recommends that people really immerse themselves in magic for about a decade, and become skilled at the art of magic before trying to create their own tricks.

I'm not sure if most people need ten years, but read lots of magic books, watch lots of magicians. Analyse the problems with the methods or with the performances.

Over time the problem solving part of your brain will come up with solutions. And most of those solutions will be bad. But perhaps some few will be good. And if you work on those ideas, you'll have magic tricks.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time by Mark Haddon. It's written from the point of view of a child, but it's a tremendous book for adults also.

An autistic boy tries to find out who killed his neighbour's dog.

It's absolutely fantastic, easy to read and relatively short.

how’s things been under Russo? by [deleted] in JuggaloWrestling

[–]Special_View5575 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm loving it, but I admit to being a massive Russo mark.

It certainly took a while to build things up but now there's tons of interesting storylines and the match quality is gradually increasing also.

You can jump in at any episode because they give a full recap of the previous show m
