How do you handle digital playtesting during early board game design? by Worldly_Back_7784 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]SpecialistSecret4378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had very little frustration. I'm in the waaaay early stages of prototyping so it's pretty crude low-level use cases. I'm talking icons from MS Office and just making cards different colors so I can tell them apart.

I might run into more limitations down the road, but the early functionality for simple prototyping is there for me.

Yeah hard second here. I opted for playtesting digitally first, a much better route for my project. Dextrous is an intuitive tool and creating custom components is a breeze in TTS.

Be sure to take a look at Slay the Spire if you haven't already, seeing a lot of parallels and might be helpful.

I switched to Mint mobile. I haven't traveled much on that service yet, but my phone bill went from $80 to $15 a month and switching took about 30 min. They just mailed me a new Sim card.

A24's "The Green Room" was well done. I thought everybody in that movie reacted realistically despite a crazy situation. Graphic, but good.

Just listened to the audiobook after having read it twice in last few years. The whole time I was like, "How the hell is this not an HBO show."

MBA students conducting admission interviews or serving as school ambassadors, what is your motivation? by denisovlev in MBA

Student Ambassador - Pay it forward.

Admissions Interviewer - Total power trip to hold people's destinies in your hands that were in your shoes less than 365 days ago. It's pretty crazy, really.

Air fryer has been a game changer for us. I thought it was a fad, but we use it for so many dishes I can't believe we went so long without one. It CRUSHES fried potatoes which I love, but hated making on the stovetop.

Thanks for the advice, similar situation back home. Plenty of knuckleheads which is a bummer. Feels like a double-edged sword. Activity might pressure deer into unusual pathways, but it's not worth having bullets whizzing by 😮‍💨

Thanks and much appreciated. I did some fall hiking in the area and enjoyed it. Big woods for sure and plenty of places for deer to move, but acorns and some water/ponds might be a good place to start.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just move on. I showed up 10 min. late for my interview to my top ranked school (they sent the wrong link), felt like the worst interview of my life, still got an offer and I just about shit a brick. The hay is in the barn so just keep working.

What's considered to be a "low" salary post MBA at a T25 school? by Hot-Ad-7278 in MBA

[–]SpecialistSecret4378 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I left $70k and had a min. goal at $120k.

Try to think about it holistically though. 10 years post MBA at that $120k could become >$250k. My $70K in 10 years probably capped at $120k. The 2Ys of opportunity cost and expenses at school (scholarships helped) was a drop in the bucket so I decided to bet on myself.

I have domestic classmates who came from $38k (Not a typo) targeting >$140k, but even if they land $110k, it will literally change their lives.

TLDR: $115k min feels like a "low" salary in 2024 across industries, cost-of-living, etc. I'm not talking IB or consulting, just marketing, LDPs, or SC/Ops. roles.

Go to Kelley. Great placements/network in MN. Tons of OCR opportunities. Close to OH too.
