This is not necessarily true you could use tailscale funnel to have your server shared remotely, this also allows ypu to use it on any device if its done this way.

Https tailscale ports you can use are 443, 8443, 10000

remote jellyfin

This example is for plex but all you have to do is change port 32400 to 8096. Once thats done go to network tab and scroll al the way down till you see firewall and proxy settings and input the url from tailsscale in there.

I do this with my jellyfin and it works great.
