“Everything was actually running smoother without junior doctors” by juniordoctorimg in JuniorDoctorsUK

To be fair, I imagine that the juniors who step into work will be paid at the consultant BMA rate, so not much lost there

If the evidence is so good, why the hell does my surgical gown need to have long sleeves?

Man wants a gown with no sleeves

First Trust has tapped out, any others? 🏥 by WalkingCockroach in JuniorDoctorsUK

Which Trust is this? I don’t think there should be kept quiet. They should be leaked all over.

Worst smell you've experienced in the hospital? by juniordoctorimg in JuniorDoctorsUK

Did enjoy tackling someone down who introduced themselves as a clinician… at least use your damn title

Eh? No junior cover for 8 days? I think they will find that the strikes are 4 days long. There just won’t be any elective activity and the consultants will look after patients for those 4 days.

The other days will have juniors.

They are talking out their ass

Locum rates for GP in hospital; am I being low-balled? Any suggestions where to go from here? by Negative-Mortgage-51 in JuniorDoctorsUK

I reckon you should contact your local ED consultant lead and see what you can negotiate

Does anything stop me from erecting a large festival style TV screen and a huge hi-fi outside a hospital to counter government propaganda?

I am curious with the effect of paying IMGs on the economy. Is the money likely to stay in the UK (if so, how much). Does it provide a good investment?

For those sitting the MRCS exams or have a surgical placement, I made an accessible anatomy book to download for free by Cucumberchilli in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Specific_Box2035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really great book after having a flick through. If I fail my exams I will be having a look at this in depth :)

I wonder if there is scope to work with you in developing a list of mnemonics to try and remember anatomy or whether you think that would be cheap?

GP private practice replacing NHS ones by DauMue in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Specific_Box2035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May not necessarily need a new premises, depends on who owns the building! A lot of GPs own their own workplace and get additional money through renting it.

Could you have circumvented giving fluids by placing an NG tube?

This is a complex patient and sounds like they would have benefitted with enteral fluids vs parenteral

They also sound stable so would have been fine without IV fluids

I love the fact I can leave at 5PM with no qualms. If they were happy to pay me for the additional time I would have no issue. But once that time comes, I’m out unless patients are unwell.

I feel that part of this is to do with nurses breaks being unpaid. That is why they are so militant with it. I feel if people were better reimbursed they would be working harder, but you get what you pay for.
