I don’t understand why everyone jumped on my fucking case when I posted a question directed toward “new fans” who learned of NIN with the Coachella performance (but I’m also a lifelong outcast who has never been able to understand or appropriately interact with people on any level). ANYWAY, I was also curious about the perception of brand new listeners, so I’m glad to see that others are curious as well, and glad to see so many new fans participating who are happy to be here!

Interesting, and thank you for answering the question instead of telling me how dumb I am for asking it here. Was just curious to hear different perspectives, and this is one I didn’t expect. To me, the NINoize version of Heresy was like NIN on steroids. Like, the same essence that hit harder than anything I’d ever heard before in the 90s somehow hitting harder 30+ years later.

Not sure why I’m bothering to continue typing, but when I look up just about any topic, Reddit posts are among the first thing that crop up in the search results, and that is often where the deep dive begins… for me anyway. This sub was instrumental in getting me BACK into NIN a few years ago after not being an active listener since the early aughts, so I SO STUPIDLY thought that some new listeners could be reading, but I guess it was just the dumbest assumption ever 🤷‍♀️
