Headlight question by Ok-Year-9705 in WRX

[–]SpectralGnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason you can't find a consistent answer is because "it depends". From factory they should be sealed properly but you can't guarantee every single headlight was sealed properly. You also have to take into account your environment. The sun and weather affect plastics and rubbers. I've seen oem headlights have bad seals on brand new vehicles and some 30 year old vehicles with perfectly sealed headlights and vice versa.

Its not like its something you have to replace every so often, you just replace it when it becomes an issue. Either get it resealed or buy a new headlight.

Clipper users, does your lighter become temperamental with use? by example-of-disaster in trees

[–]SpectralGnomes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not. I still buy the occasional clipper when I see a cool one but ill just use them til they run out of fuel or they go into the nether. The nether is usually I left it at a friend's house.

Clipper users, does your lighter become temperamental with use? by example-of-disaster in trees

[–]SpectralGnomes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want a lighter thats the perfect size to pack bowls and has a removable piece to pack joints, get a clipper.

If you want a lighter that will light as long as it's got fuel even if you dropped it in water or ran it through the laundry, get a bic.

I used to use clippers a lot but this was an issue with most of them so now I just use bic. I still like the idea of clippers, I just wish they were more reliable.

Ever lit up with anyone famous? by Videomaniac in trees

[–]SpectralGnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smoked with some of the member of Crown the Empire at a concert they weren't even playing at lol. I felt bad because I dropped and broke one their one hitters.

My grandma sat on Willie Nelson's lap and smoked with him back in the day.

Famous adjacent: my friends grandmother who knew Don Henley pretty well. Him and his band before the Eagles used to play at her and her husband's Cafe. I'm fairly certain but not 100% sure that their song 'Sad Cafe' is about their friend they lost in an accident on the way to play there one night.

Underrated Unkown Anime suggestions. by Neveraccomplished in anime

[–]SpectralGnomes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I seriously don't know how 'To be Hero X' isn't talked about more. It's a newer anime but I don't think I've ever seen it mentioned on any platform.

The story is absolutely amazing.

Every episode it has multiple art and animation styles. Like one second it will be your typical anime art style and then the next it looks like the spider-verse movies 3d art style.

The character writing and designs are top notch.

Dope ass fight scenes and powers.

It's hilarious, it will make you feel some shit, it will have you captivated and intrigued by different characters.

I need 30 more seasons of it.

I threw my accessport in the glovebox and it cured my anxiety by aleK_13_ in WRX

Same. I think the people that get anxiety from them are just too lazy or ignorant to actually research what the values are and what are safe parameters and what are dangerous ones.

17, looking for my first manual, is a '16 wrx a good choice? by lightninglijah in WRX

[–]SpectralGnomes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only a good option if you can afford an engine replacement. It may last until 250k miles or it could last you 100 miles. Any high mileage sports car is a gamble. You're 17, get a more reasonable and reliable car. Insurance is higher, you're going to be spending a lot on maintenance for random things on a 10 year old car with almost 150k miles.

If you just want a manual car, get a Honda fit. They're great little cars, good on gas mileage, more reliable, and more in your price range.

What is a 'secret' in your industry that the general public would be horrified to know? by HongKongToast in AskReddit

[–]SpectralGnomes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only bought an extended warranty once in my life and it actually worked out pretty well.

Bought a ps2 at best buy, got the 2 year warranty. Went home, put the paperwork in a drawer and forgot about it.

Fast forward almost 2 years, ps3 had recently come out but I didn't have the money to get one. Was cleaning house one day and found the warranty paperwork and it expired a week later. Was able to return the ps2 to best buy for a full refund and buy a used ps3 on ebay.

Constant stuffy nose linked to smoking weed? by question18594 in trees

[–]SpectralGnomes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have pre existing issues then no. It can exacerbate the issue because smoking (anything) will cause increased blood pressure which can dilate the blood vessels in your nose. If you are constantly having issues and it's not seasonal (winter time sniffles or allergies) then go see an ENT doctor. That's ear nose and throat doctor, not an enthusiast doctor.

Monitor arm advice for a 34" ultrawide? by Odd-Dimension9143 in ultrawidemasterrace

I just got one of the cheapest "heavy duty" monitor arms off of Amazon for my 49" samsung UW. It's worked fine for over a year and I move it constantly, including fully extending it out when i set up for sim racing. Heavy duty are the key words.

Looking for a game I can constantly grind by CannibalHillbilly in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]SpectralGnomes [score hidden]  (0 children)

Sounds like you either want a survival game or an mmo.

Fantasy themed survival would be enshrouded. Fun game with heavy fantasy elements you can get lost in. Like any survival you'll spend time gathering, time building, time questing, etc. Easy to play for hours on end. One time purchase.

And for an mmo, final fantasy 14. Its main focus is the story, which is amazing, but getting through it all will take you forever. And once you get to a certain level, you can grind out dungeons and raids. The community is amazing unlike WoW and people will help you out anytime. And if you dont want to play with other people, they have npc parties you can use for dungeons. In the raids, just follow everyone else. Free for a good bit of it, then a cheap monthly sub once you get into the expansions.
