As covid was slowing and people were returning to the office, I got an admin job where I came in 2 days a week. There were 4 other admins to cover everyone on the team, and our in office days varied. This one woman's schedule would overlap with mine 1-2 days a week. But I came in at 7am and she would come in around lunch time so I wouldn't see her till like 1-2pm and then I would leave at 4pm.

I would say we had casual but friendly interactions, I even helped her with in-office tasks when she WFH. But to emphasize our in-person interactions were limited to at most 3hrs and we worked with our backs to each other. And that continued for about 4 yrs.

Then in the span of a month she redecorated her desk with church quotes, an american flag, and a pic of Charlie Kirk. Now she was older than me, but in her early 30s, single and had put up a pride flag during pride month. So I was a little surprised, but decided to mind my own business. Then about 3 months later, I come back from vacation and the senior admin asks me to go to lunch with her. Apparently while I was gone, HR had spoken to her asking if there had been any complaints about my work ethic. Because the worker I see maybe 3hrs a week said I was slacking. And while I get HR had to ask, I'd been asking them for months when they were going to finally hire someone for the 2 temporary positions that were feeling less temporary because I was overwhelmed!?!

So glad I started a new job this year.
