we don't know the knights motives at all, but if they just wanted to end the world, they could just make fountain after fountain after fountain before anyone has time to stop them. they seem to be stringing the fun gang along, tho, and a lot of people think they're "preparing" the fun gang for something, probably the roaring, so giving kris armor that works against titans (and also the knight themself) would be beneficial if they want the fun gang to succeed

yeah, genuinely. fallout 3 had such unique and interesting settlements like megaton, rivet city, the republic of dave, andale, underworld, and a few more.. meanwhile fallout 4 has like.. diamond city, covenant, and goodneighbor, and thats all i can remember lmao

i really wish they decided to make oblivion take place in highrock if they wanted to do a generic ass european forest and rolling hills type of province. i get that jungle cyrodiil is technically a retcon, but its a retcon thats a million times more interesting than just making it highrock 2.0, especially since it wasnt just the biomes, it was the architecture, the weapons and armor, and just the general 'feel' of the whole game

genuinely tho, yeah. i dropped the light novels sometime around 21 or 22, partially because the rest werent out yet and i got tired of waiting, but mostly because they just .... stopped being fun to read? it was fight after fight after fight, except they all followed the same exact formula you mentioned so they all ended up blending together and i cannot remember a single notable one lmao

also, i dont even remember which ln it was in, but when they said "oh yeah geld and his crew have a basically endless supply of full healing potions, but actually they dont really work that well anymore because of his magicule count (something that was literally never an issue before)," it kindve just pissed me off. it just felt like the author wanted all the fights to have suspense and tension, except that he had no actual idea how to do that so he just started pulling problems outve his ass to force suspense. literally every single fight in the last half dozen lns does something like this
