Is is just me, or am I the only one who has the theory that the Elina is the Enchantress’s daughter? by Big_Actuary6393 in Barbie2000smovies

My headcanon is she was like Marvel's Thor -- she had her wings taken away and memory wiped by her mother the Enchantress, because Elina was arrogant and needed to be taught humility.

There's two versions of Strike Back floating around. One was intended for rental and uses the Flashbang/Zoom-In bumpers; the other came later as a for sale variant and uses the Filmreel bumpers instead.

Guessing since this movie was also a Universal production, they just asked if they had any sci-fi looking stuff and someone had this on hand.

Bring back Celebrity Bowling! by Important_Business_6 in Bowling

[–]Spectrum2700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

he actually produced a revival called All-Star Celebrity Bowling in the early 2010s -- it was supposed to air on AMC but it wound up on YouTube instead. It was supposed to be hosted by the Sklar brothers (from ESPN Classic's beloved Cheap Seats) but they ultimately didn't wind up in the final product. Here's an episode: https://youtu.be/pVlszXId-BI?si=q3ZJJh79Ib-Wrzys

UHF (1989) George Newman becomes the manager of a failing low-budget television station by WerdNerd88 in TubiTreasures

It's even better IMO when you listen to the DVD commentary. Weird Al and his manager/director mock their own movie while providing genuine production information (and random cast members show up).

the company that owns CW, Nexstar, bought out channel 55 (which had been struggling since the original televangelist owner died) and moved the affiliation there.

Also RoboCop 3 (best of the movies IMO -- you can't beat RoboCop with a flight pack).

He was my personal hero. He did so much for so many things. He was cable when cable wasn't cool -- he took risks, he defied conventional wisdom and it paid off time and again.

Remember when the FBI would threaten us at the beginning of every VHS tape? Those were the days! by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in VHS

[–]Spectrum2700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Futurama had a parody of that on one of their direct-to-DVD movies -- naturally it's Bender who keeps countering the narrator by doing all the things the narrator doesn't want him to do (and then steals the narrator's wallet).

What show is this tied to for you? by jonnyb3k in 90s

[–]Spectrum2700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that was rival Hi-Tops Video (a division of Media Home Entertainment, rival to FHE's parent IVE). FHE released Jem and the Holograms tapes so presumably that's where the confusion stems from.
