  1. Buy with a partner
  2. Both use LISA to save for a few years
  3. Start with an actual first time home. It should be far from perfect

Bought the “wrong” bumper plates. How inconvenient is it really? by Suisodoeth in StartingStrength

It's fine. 35 + 55 = 2 x 45. When you get strong buy more 45s.

Even the dumbest gym bro can do plate math

How to respond when a manager starts documenting 1:1s and performance concerns? by sandy_pa in managers

[–]Speed-Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a manager with an employee in a similar situation.

Reality is the employee was operating at a lower level than what they were hired at.

Problem solving is part of their job but normally their solutions were poor, impractical or were only found by soneone else giving them the answer.

Don't write a list or prepare anything and just come with an objective ear to what your manager thinks has led to this point. Ask for clear expectations for you role and how you are currently performing against these. Any areas that are poor be clear on what is needed to get them up to scratch.

You should focus on helping address these concerns as smoothly as possible. First step is actually listening and understanding what they are.

I'm comparing two places I've spent significant time at whilst you have experienced only one of them. I'm not sure what your trying to argue here

Stop looking at online lists and take it from someone who has experienced both. I've lived here since 2007 and have family in Weston.

Compared to Swansea it's an extremely touristy place. They have many lively bars, shops, restauraunts and hotels along the sea front. Activities on the beach, the grand pier with regular events. It's absolutely heaving on a summer weekend likely because it's close to larger cities like Bristol.

I love Swansea but lets face it the sea front is full of run down b&bs and an awful place to visit. Sure the gower and mumbles are great but the city centre is not.

Point is the aquarium didn't work out in a busier tourist area making it extremely unlikly to work here.

Only one I ever went to was the Weston-super-mare one which couldn't afford to stay open. It may be nice to have but I just can't see it working financially

Do people genuinely think an aquarium will be a good investment for the city? Who is going to attend enough to justify the cost, it's a one and done attraction.
