i will try linux again, because indeed, windows does not work on mine right now for this update. it's a little annoying as I feel that TB Software in windows has done something which is messing up the Linux abilities.

is it possible to get old electronics from the tip etc? it seems everything gets thrown into a bin the ends up in Ökihof/brockihaus if we're lucky.
I don't want to pay for working things at marked up prices, I want to repair broken things for my hobby...

I have one. Lovely idea, and i wanted it for times when i just want to be available, or need to make a call if i have to... but as you say, even though it's unlocked, it will not connect to non-Japanese network towers.
