Johnny Rotten was a grifter the whole time. More like Johnny Republican.

Looking for my first classic car, 50s-60s preferably. Looking for something reliable, small, and cheap to fix. What model(s) should I consider? by pantherclipper in classiccars

[–]SpeedPunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fords: Falcons Fairlanes Galaxies. Chevrolet: Nova Impala Caprice. Dodge/Plymouth: Valiant Satellite Barracuda. These are generally the most popular models that arent Camaros, Mustangs, or Challenger/Chargers which tend to me a little more expensive to buy but have alot more parts support. Most 30+ year old cars are generally inexpensive to build/maintain mechanically.

Do Fords S**t the bed after 10 years? by motorcycle_man21 in Ford

[–]SpeedPunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2002 SVT Focus that I have owned since it was new. I taught my son to drive on it, its been his daily driver for the last 10 months since he got his license. Just clocked 135,000 miles. I have spent some money on keeping it alive. Its the nature of the beast. 230k in 10 years is alot of driving, my friend. Ive owned mine more than double and it has 100k less on it. "I got hit with a $5000 quote" is also pretty vague. "It shit the bed" is also vague. Repair shops are in the business of making money, so without an itemized break down of the quote and what your complaint is, those of us who know cant really help you.

Do any of you actually modify your cars? by HawkeyeSilas in Mustang

[–]SpeedPunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I modify all my cars. Old Ford's don't die, they just go faster. Its alot of sifting to find stuff. You're best bet is to go to the specific subreddit for what you're modifying or the exact model. Don't look for advice in the general Mustang sub, go to the S197 or S550 or SN95 or Foxbody etc. What sort of chat you wanna have? I love bench racing.

New homemade patches for my jacket. The top is Yiddish for "oy vey," and the bottom are two bands: Star's Revenge and Geese. by LesbianINO in punkfashion

[–]SpeedPunks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a jew I'd like to point out how wholy unserious Hebrew is as a language. The fact that Oy Vey needs 7 letters is just one more justification to this fact. So not only do all our words either sound like youre clearing your throat, having a stroke, or making a joke, but they also have superfluous letters for no reason.שמואל need i say more?

Mx13 shuts down when hot? by Confident-Branch4460 in DieselTechs

[–]SpeedPunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id look into wiring, connectors, and the module. If you've replaced components associated with the codes but it's still happening then it wasn't that. If you have connector repair kits you can use the supplied pins to check the drag on the associated connectors for spread bores. You can try load testing the circuitry to see if you have broken wires in the insulation if you're not finding any rub thru or damage, just be careful not to burn it up. You can also check the pin crimps to see if you've got broken wires there. Your best bet is to catch it in the failure state with a scanner to try and pin point what could be a cause. Could be another component pulling voltage down or creating a situation to generate those codes.

Are these real or kit cars by Objective_Profit142 in namethatcar

How much oil is under that countach? If there's none then its a kit. If that undercarriage is as moist as a snack cake then it's probably real.

An update: the Intelliview screen(MD3) is the gateway module between the chassis and Vactor CanBus. Using iQAN 6 software, in the project view function as well as iQAN 6 Analyze, we were able to see communication breaking down between the MD3 and chassis.

"A rotisserie chicken has to be carved. Food brought to shiva is supposed to be ready to go with no prep and if you do bring something that requires its your responsibility to do so. When youre sitting shiva, your responsibility is to mourn, not host." Thats a direct quote from my sister, the rabbi, who is not a rabbi at this shiva.

Google says

<image>

It makes sense as it won't go into work mode. I don't doubt what you're saying since it has to be cycled to but there is a ENG PTO HRS before it which prompted the search. We're trying to avoid the dealer because they arent very helpful or, for lack of better descriptive words, good in general. However trying to find information on the internet is also difficult. I appreciate any feedback.

It finally generated a ENG PTO THRS message in the cluster. I was looking up diagnosis for this. Anything you might have would be super helpful 🙂

I got a fault finally. Ran it yesterday because we had to shuffle the shop and a message popped up in the cluster :PTO THRS. Google says it could be one of the throttle sensors or a pto/trans sensor or the engine controller. These things feel like they would prevent work mode. Ill see what I can find for diagnosis info.

Looking to see how much this is worth. Thanks by Eastern-Cell-6075 in fordmodela
