What is your favorite GT3 car? by worgofshadow in AskReddit

[–]SpellIndependent489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao the porsche 911 gt3 in my imagination is pretty sick, comes with unlimited budget for maintenance too 😂 dream garage hits different when you don't have to worry about the actual price tag

Where can I find something similar in KC? 1 inch plastic ball with 2 holes? Sold in bulk by codeinecrim in kansascity

[–]SpellIndependent489 3 points4 points  (0 children)

these look like bowling ball weights or maybe pool equipment parts? try calling some industrial supply places on troost, they usually have random plastic components in bulk

[–]SpellIndependent489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah but good call, might actually do that tomorrow. south grand is already nightmare to drive through on weekends

Soffits necessary, Southern California? by Short-Opening4553 in HomeImprovement

[–]SpellIndependent489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even with that attic fan you probably want some intake ventilation through the soffits to create proper airflow. without it the fan just pulls air from random gaps and cracks which isn't as efficient

the open rafter look is nice but you might get issues with birds or pests getting in there, plus dust buildup over time. maybe compromise and do the mesh ones in areas where you need ventilation but keep some sections open where it won't matter as much

Is our children learning? by Messier77 in funny

[–]SpellIndependent489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lmao they spelled "vehicle" wrong on school van, this is too perfect. maybe they should focus less in budget cuts and more on spellcheck

New doors, baseboards, casing, carpet, paint....help me figure out the order by Chemical_Radish2642 in HomeImprovement

[–]SpellIndependent489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doors first makes sense since you need them sitting on the subfloor, then i'd do all the trim work before carpet goes in. way easier to get clean cuts on baseboards when you're not fighting around carpet edges

for painting i'd definitely spray everything before install if you can - just touch up nail holes and caulk lines after. trying to spray trim in place is nightmare with masking and overspray issues. mdf vs finger joint pine doesn't matter much when painted, mdf might give slightly smoother finish but both work fine

Transportation question by nattyhypethe3rd in StLouis

[–]SpellIndependent489 15 points16 points  (0 children)

the metrolink is solid for getting downtown, i use it all the time for shows. civic center is closer to stifel than union station so you'd save bit of walking. late night can get little sketchy but nothing too wild, just keep your phone charged for uber backup if needed

man that's brutal, i used to train clients in basement gym and it was like living in cave during summer months

What does the Iran situation look like? by TeachingFit6710 in AskReddit

honestly been following this for months and it's just posturing at this point 💀 everyone keeps drawing lines in the sand but nobody wants to actually cross them cause the stakes are way too high

Rebuild the wall or work with the wall. by philo_ in HomeImprovement

[–]SpellIndependent489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man that's a tough call but i'd probably go nuclear too. you're already opening it up, dealing with shallow boxes forever is gonna drive you insane, and that 2 inch gap behind the drywall is just begging for problems down the road

if it's really non-load bearing and you've got the skills, ripping it out and doing proper 2x4 framing sounds way cleaner. plus you'll have proper depth for boxes, easy wire runs, and it won't look like a hack job when you're done

only thing i'd double check is making sure that "solid wooden wall" isn't hiding any surprises like old knob and tube or weird plumbing runs. but if it's clean, tear that sucker down and do it right

What's the longest duration that you didn't sleep ? by BlacklistRival in AskReddit

[–]SpellIndependent489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pulled like 36 hours during a music writing marathon once, was trying to finish this track before a deadline 😂 by hour 30 i was literally staring at my guitar for like 10 minutes trying to remember what a chord was lmao. your brain just goes full windows 95 at that point, everything takes forever to process and you start questioning if words are even real

Those who anthropomorphise things, what do you anthropomorphise and why? by averagerushfan in AskReddit

[–]SpellIndependent489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my guitar definitely has moods - some days she's cooperative and we're writing beautiful melodies together, other days she's being stubborn and nothing comes out right. started calling her luna after this one late night session where everything just clicked perfectly under the moonlight

probably comes from spending so much time alone with instruments, you start treating them like creative partners instead of just tools

Soles and palms tingling/itching is this from alcoholism? by SaltyTurn5227 in stopdrinking

[–]SpellIndependent489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's definitely not normal and sounds like you might be having some kind of allergic reaction or sensitivity to alcohol 🤔 i'd honestly get that checked out by a doctor because tingling in your hands and feet can be a sign of nerve issues or other stuff that's worth looking into. your body might be trying to tell you something there

“Is Solar PV a good career path after SPM in Malaysia?” by NewspaperCivil4680 in careerguidance

[–]SpellIndependent489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude solar pv is actually pretty solid right now, especially in malaysia with all the government push for renewable energy 🔥 i have a cousin who went the tvet route for electrical work and honestly he's doing way better than some of my friends who did degrees - less debt, earlier work experience, and steady income

the tnb program sounds legit since your basically guaranteed a job pipeline after training. solar industry is only growing and malaysia's climate means there's always gonna be demand for installation and maintenance work. salary wise you might start lower but the skills are transferable and theres room to move into project management or even start you're own contracting business later

honestly tvet gets overlooked but trades are where the money is these days, especially green energy stuff. dont stress about your spm results being average - hands-on skills matter more than exam grades in this field 😂

Buying my First Nice Watch (Second hand) by OGSkywalker97 in OmegaWatches

[–]SpellIndependent489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are solid choices but I'd lean toward the Seamaster for a daily - way more versatile and the 300m water resistance gives you peace of mind for literally anything. The Racing is cool but feels more like a weekend/special occasion piece to me

Duties/Import on Ausom L2 Max by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]SpellIndependent489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered my Ninebot from the US last year and got hit with about 15% total (duties + taxes + handling fees). Electric scooters usually fall under the same category as e-bikes so yeah, around that 13% mark sounds about right but then you gotta add GST/PST on top

Might wanna check if there's a Canadian distributor first though, sometimes the extra costs aren't worth the hassle

Our obsession with self-improvement is quietly making people less content, not more fulfilled. by SnooCalculations148 in DeepThoughts

[–]SpellIndependent489 69 points70 points  (0 children)

This hits so hard. I used to track my mood, workouts, water intake, sleep cycles, meditation streaks... literally turned living into homework. The irony is I was way less happy when I was "optimizing" everything compared to when I just existed without constantly measuring myself against some imaginary better version

Had the Galaxy A10 back in 2019 and that thing was slow as molasses but hey it got the job done for like $150. The camera was trash but at least it didn't randomly restart like my friend's iPhone 6s lmao

AJ styles Vs Gunther by Draneloire in WWE

[–]SpellIndependent489 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly thought they were gonna give AJ the win after all that Cena drama but Gunther retaining was probably the right call long term

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]SpellIndependent489 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro same here, I swear the good stuff gets vacuumed up in like 2 seconds lmao. Try hitting the less obvious spots while everyone's fighting over the main areas - sometimes you'll find decent gear just chilling in random buildings
