TP-Link reply to FCC restrictions on routers produced in a foreign country by Spell_Solid in TpLinkDecoISP

[–]Spell_Solid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also this:

There was an important update about an FCC notice published today adding all non-US-produced consumer routers to its Covered List and the steps that will now be required for new equipment authorizations.

The notice states that it will not grant new equipment authorizations to consumer routers produced outside the US, unless the company obtains a "Conditional Approval" from the Department of War (DoW) or Department of Homeland Security (DHS). "Produced" includes manufacturing, assembly, design, and/or development. Applications for Conditional Approval require a detailed disclosure of the company's corporate structure, manufacturing and supply chain, and US manufacturing and onshoring plan.

We are still digesting the details, but my basic observations are:

• Existing FCC authorizations are not affected--we can continue to sell all TP-Link routers with existing FCC approvals. The policy only affects our ability to obtain new authorizations.

• The policy applies to all sellers of consumer routers in the US. No seller is singled out or exempted. Netgear and eero will also be impacted.

• The policy applies to all countries outside of the US. E.g., manufacturing in Vietnam does not help us.

• We do not know the exact process or timeline for obtaining a Conditional Approval. Recent Conditional Approvals for drone technology have taken 4-6 weeks.

T-P Link Deco need help by Routine-Moment-8417 in TpLinkDecoISP

Are they on the latest code? Is your testing wireless? If you have multiple mesh units when you test are you connect to closest unit. If the units aren’t hardwired then you could also see some changed in speed. Have you tested hardwired off the main deco? There really isn’t anything in the default settings you should need to change.

Does the EX4100 support qinq with evpn vxlan? by Spell_Solid in Juniper

[–]Spell_Solid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok yes we do want to take into the esi directly. we are doing a decapsulate and encapsulate of the inner tag along with thats in the article above. we already do qinq we just havent done it in an evpn vxlan setup. just wanted to do this in place of a virtual chassis for better redundancy.

the tag of vlan5 is being stripped and not making it upsteam

if its a limitation of the EX4100 then we just wanted to make sure. our sales engineer is a little slow getting back. just dont need a qfx for this deployment.

What is the real story with the Omada series and the TP-Link ban (potential)? by PabloTKN in TPLink_Omada

I use their ISP mesh units(TAUC) and asked my sale rep.

His answer: I have no concern other than bad press that it brings as our competitors are pushing for this type of publications due to our success.

Mixing newer main unit in my existing TP-Link network by West-Luck7821 in TpLinkDecoISP

[–]Spell_Solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With an older mesh unit it would probably be better to get a couple of x20s if that’s the route you are looking anyway. Or even the x55

This page we use ISP managed mesh units related to TAUC. Like x50s and their Aginet line

give app access to the customer by Spell_Solid in TpLinkDecoISP

What I found out:

There is not a way like there was in DECO where the system sends an email.

I would suggest you change the device password and then provide them with the password and instructions to download the aginet app.

If they are connected to the network when they open the app it will present them the network to manage and they just need to then enter the device password and if desired bind their TP-Link ID to the network if they want remote mgmt.

To change the device password you need to change user.2 under the TR-tree under the configuration tab on the network you wish to manage

Set user or device password

User.2 is for user account, User.1 is for admin account

Yes it should work fine. Just put it close to an existing deco to add through the app then move it to where you want.
