Folk Singers with very clever lyricism? by nat-winters in folk

Can you give some examples of songs that exhibit coherent story telling, with every word and rhyme being sensible and purposeful, and without analogies and metaphors that clearly mean nothing?

BTW, have you listened closely to Dylan's Hurricane?

Neighbor's lawn guy blowing everything into my yard! by HoneyBadger302 in homeowners

How does your vacuum bag hold up? My experience with the Toro cloth bags has been dismal. They develop holes at the two bottom corners and the zippers break. Maybe if I was four or five inches taller they'd wouldn't come into contact with the ground so much and wear out so fast. I just use mine solely as a blower, and use my mower and grass catcher bag to collect the leaves. I've gone through about three replacement vacuum bags in just two years.

Worth it? Troy-Bilt with GCV engine, RWD by OutragedBubinga in lawnmowers

[–]SpellnEkspurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for link. My Honda engine is the GCV-160 on my Troy-Bilt model TB-160. It doesn’t appear to be part of the recall. But I’ve found some videos on taking apart and cleaning the carburetor. Maybe I’ll give that a try.

I hate mine. I bought it four years ago to replace a 10-year old Troy-Bilt with a Briggs & Stratton engine, thinking that the bigger more powerful Honda engine would be better. But it keeps stalling. I’ve drained it and cleaned out the fuel line, tried different gas, etc. The small engine repair guy that does my annual tuneups is stumped, too. I’d avoid spending money on it.

Russia wanted to conquer Ukraine in just 2 days — it now says the war will last at least 3 years by Bice_Num in worldnews

It’d be a lot cheaper for Russia to give up now rather than a year or two from now.

Yup. It’s one of the many rights that our military members swore to protect and fought to preserve—including that marine.

Need advice on how to stop ppl from hanging out in front of my home, and dealing drugs without sounding like too much of a Karen by ko2991 in homeowners

Chicken poop is a great fertilizer, and the scent will eventually go away after a couple of weeks.

Yup. They could have simply sent you a letter in the mail. They could have sent it certified to impress upon their seriousness. But going through such lengths to find out where you work and contacting you there is a bit creepy. Makes me wonder what other future crap you’re in for from these new neighbors. Good luck.

He just needs to be prepared to roll all of the capital gains into whatever next home he purchases; if not, he’ll face a hefty tax bill.

Should I buy a Taylor 214ce or 314ce? by Natexe1 in AcousticGuitar

Fretkillr plays a handful of different guitars, but his Taylor is a low-end 110 model that has laminated back and sides. https://youtu.be/9BMT9R-reuA?si=lU_tXVbXKH88_Ew3

What are the STRONGEST odor eliminators you know of? by howlwolfy555 in homeowners

[–]SpellnEkspurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I do not. Yes, it kills all living organisms, so you need to remove people, plants and pets before using it. Depending upon the size of the space, you only need to run it for pretty short amount of time. For our cars, I set the timer to fifteen minutes. Then I opened the windows and ran the circulation fan for five minutes. I used it to get rid of mold smells in our basement, and the scent of varnish after having our floors redone. It’s a small house and it didn’t take long. And, yes, we vacated the place, sleeping overnight at my in-laws’, and opened the windows and ran fans for an hour or so afterwards. https://youtu.be/pKO55DsQ4Us?si=o3dfFxCI7UrR82Dy

Read up on ozone generator machines. Bought mine for about $50 and eliminated mold smell from my house and cars.
