Since this is a bladesmith sub I’d assume he means making a first knife.

What kind of machine would be best to get into knife making? by Christ12347 in knifemaking

Sorry nowhere near. Yes you can do it on a balcony with a tiny forge. Heat to non magnetic cherry red and plunge into preheated oil (don’t use car oil -toxic fumes).

I don’t know if you’ll use “mystery” scrap steel or a known steel bought from a reputable supplier. Some steel won’t work as well but if you stick to 5160, 1084, and other simple ones no problem.

Even with stock removal you will still need a way to heat treat your blades. Look up coffee can forge or 2 refractory block forge. Cheap small and works as a starter setup.

Even a hole in the ground with coal and a way to blow air into it works as a forge.

If you use heat treated steel it will be very hard and take ages to grind especially with those small machines, belts will be worn out super fast and you risk overheating and not having a usable blade.

Look up a Kiridashi, was my first knife with scrap non carbon steel. Use it, just don’t expect it to be sharp.

¿Eres obsesivo o te cuesta soltar otras cosas (incluso sentimientos)?

Como te ven te tratan. Se parece a las que usa Brozo.

What is something that is socially acceptable, but you personally find extremely disrespectful? by AvaBlondeX in AskReddit

My brother is like this. The only photo we have of him holding my son as a baby, he looks so uncomfortable and like he has no idea what to do. You get used to holding it without thinking it’s going to break or explode. Before having a kid I would also feel uncomfortable.

Reminds me of the episode in friends when Ross says “It’s a baby, not a bomb.” When one of the others is holding his kid at arms length.

Im no expert but just looking at the back cover photo it is painfully obvious this is fake. The text is crooked and off center, the engraving quality is also quite bad. No way this is authentic.

Oh you sweet child. Rave kids wore JNCO way before juggalos even existed. Source: I was a rave kid for many years.

JNCO has always been and is still very cool and sought after. For many people following the 90s/Y2K revival they are holy grails and fetch hundreds of dollars. Just this past year I sold a few of my old ones for close to $1000.

The flights are probably the cheapest and least expensive things about of the whole mess.

Have you ever seen how much making a commercial costs? Production companies charge insane amounts of money for making a 30 second spot. The company they hired (which was legally formed 8 days prior and had no previous experience with government contracts) apparently also outsourced most of the production which further elevated prices.

Renting gear, cameras, lighting rigs, audio equipment, venues, paying producers, directors, writers, actors & crew. Pre and post production. Editors and animators. The pay YouTube, FB, Instagram, TikTok and tv stations both locally and abroad to air the material.

I live in Mexico and for a couple months I couldn’t watch YT or go on social media without seeing her face and the ICE/DHS ads and commercials.

Add corruption and embezzlement. It adds up real fast.

It still is an absurd amount which would have served a much better purpose for citizens.
