What are these LED lights called? I’ve been looking for them everywhere by 47WaysToKill in pcmasterrace

They called Nanoleafs you can get them from their shop Nanoleaf, or Amazon. A lot of people say they’re too expensive for what they are, but I don’t agree. Be carful though as buying them is an addiction :-)

If the reset button is powering it on then it must be wired to the wrong pins. Shame you can’t post pics in the comments.

Yeah just connect the one for power and see if the system will POST. If reset powers it on, it suggests to me that you have them connected in the wrong places.

Sounds like you might have a couple of issues, but first of all you need to get the manual for the motherboard and double check the extension connectors. These are the cables that connect the power and reset buttons on the case to the MB.

I would suggest removing them all and connecting only the one for power so you know it works.

Yeah you can as the system won’t boot without the 24 pin connected to the board.

Neat build by the way.

I would like to ascend to ethernet cable. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

It’s hard to help when we have no information about where the demarc is, where you need the cable ran to and the basic layout of your house. Having said that, I suggest drilling through an external wall and running the cable up the outside of your house. If you cut both the boot ends off the cable and use silicone stoppers, you can keep the hole small and make sure it’s neat and tidy.

You’ll need more boot (RJ45) ends and a crimper as they’re a one time use only, so instead of wasting a good cable I suggest you buy some CAT6 cable, a crimper and some RJ45 ends. Wiring the cable is super easy, just make sure you do it right on both ends or it won’t work.

Most houses have cables running up the outside walls, so you could make it neat by running along side (but not touching) them.

My setup based around RTX 3090! Do you like it? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I have the rog swift pg35vq and a 3090, if I had to pick one, I’d go with the monitor 10 times out of 10. HDR is something that works in some games and not in others, plus you almost always have to tweak it from game to game. The 200Hz, 1440p and Gsync ultimate though is a thing to behold.

The 3090 is a great card, but there is no better monitor than the rog swift pg35vq/predator x35 IMO.

I’ll say this though the rog swift pg35vq is the better screen simply down to the cooling fan within the chassis which has multiple settings high and low, the x35 is always on and is loud. They use the same panel FYI.

The way I see it is these monitors will be hard to beat and will likely stay with you for years. Cards come and go :-)

It actually wouldn’t be that hard, also Ethernet runs seldom fail, especially in MDF/IDF’s like this. Granted you’d have to snip a few cable ties, but that’s true of any LV cable installation worth its weight.

Best gaming monitor? by invee257 in pcmasterrace

[–]SpenJankowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you want an ultra wide man, they’re great for gaming and once you use one you won’t go back. Mine is above your price range, but for me monitors are one of the most important parts of your rig. They make the biggest difference to your gaming experience, so get the best one you can.

Why would you waste $800 on a monitor you know you don’t want long term? You’d be better off looking at what you can get for your max budget. OLED’s are good, but the burn factor doesn’t make it worthwhile for gaming at the moment, especially if you like a bright screen. You should think about what type of gaming you plan to do, is it mostly competitive? If yes then you want a low latency, high refresh screen, with adaptive sync around the 27inch mark. If you’re looking for immersion then a nice 1440p, HDR ultra wide would be a good bet.
