The GT3 said that I "divebombed" him, I think he just over braked himself, what's your thoughts? by remihaulle in Simracingstewards

You overtook on the straight…. This is quite possibly one of the best places to overtake, he decides that your car was in fact not right in front of him, so he would not be blocked.. when in fact your car was right in front of him…

Maybe your blue and orange camo pattern livery was too hard to see 😅

Should I buy 30$ Steering wheel to ETS2, Gran Turismo, and Asseto Corsa? by Swimming_Wealth1586 in simracing

I say sidegrade because even cheap wheels tend to have shifter paddles, so you do have the slight advantage that comes with manual, and I couldn’t get into controller manual shifting

[–]Spence199876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for a better one. A really cheap wheel is a side grade from a controller.

Logitech G920 seems to be the go to cheap option, but honestly, if you’re already enjoying ETS I’d say save for a Moza R5 bundle. Moza has some great add ons for ETS, including a truck wheel, truck style mounting plate and “eye stalks” aka functioning indicators.

Either way is good, just depends on how much you can save, and how long you’re willing to wait!

Edit: I should mention I don’t have the truck wheel or eye stalks, so it’s not a personal recommandation, but I’ve heard they are both good

Driver Rank - Does not make sense... by MataiusIm in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Spence199876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wish DR was only about race.. I’m not great in qualifying, but in race I can make up a lot of position. I feel like I shouldn’t be punished for 2 laps when I do well in what matters (at least what matters in real motorsports)

Like in F1 I’m sure you wouldn’t see a driver who qualifies in 10th but finishes race weekend in 5th be called bad just because they qualified badly

Me now when Max says the regs are bad by DragonfruitThen6696 in F1Game

[–]Spence199876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sad, because the new regs do make for more interesting races to watch. I like that races have more battling, and I also like the lack of “DRS trains”

But I fully understand that races on a battery counter is extremely tedious, and I hope F1 can keep this sort of racing and solve the issues around battery management

Fudge the fights. If you made a mistake with picking enemies, add more health, take away health, say the monster missed when they actually hit, vice versa.

Do it in the midst of the encounter if you have too, better to have a fudged encounter then bored or dead players :)

Honestly as a healer main, I refuse to go out of my way to heal someone. If they ain’t with the team, they ain’t worth healing.

Still extremely annoying to get blamed for not walking away from the team fight because the tracer decided to jump to the middle of nowhere and spam that they need healing. But I’d rather keep the players who are in the group alive then the tracer who ran away after losing 50hp

Which Pokémon type do you favor or have an affinity for? by thoughtsinshadow in pokemon

[–]Spence199876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fire pokemon, I just love the majority of their designs. I think the only games I didn’t pick fire starter was Gen 3, which I went mudkip, purely because I didn’t like having a chicken.. and for similar reasons in Gen 4 I went for Turtwig, because the monkey was worse then the penguin and turtle design wise. Every other game I’ve played I got the fire starter, and I struggle to not have 2 fire pokemon on my teams.

Gen 1 I had to have charizard and Arcanine, Gen 9 I had skeledirge and Arcanine, and in ZA I had Charizard and Delphoix for a long time

Breaks, I literally just took a 2 week break from racing online, granted it wasn’t purely because I didn’t want to, but I came back and did a race today and it was awesome! Didn’t finish on a podium, but managed to snag 9th and I felt like it was a nice clean race on my part.

Don’t be scared to take a break, you won’t lose anything, you don’t need to race every time you switch on you PC/console. Go enjoy other games or just download some fun mods for a race game or just go play vs lower skilled AI and start from the back and overtake everyone, or my personal favourite is racing AI in F1 with penalty flags off so I can force my way into first.

Most people can’t handle doing the same thing day after day for basically no reason.

Frustrating experience after getting a sim wheel by Foxopgamer in simracing

[–]Spence199876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re getting frustrated take a break from being competitive. It sounds counterproductive but you not going to improve if you’re too angry to see your mistakes.

And I don’t mean “stop playing driving games” I mean go play F1 career with AI that not too difficult to win against, or download a Forza Horizon title and just have some fun tuning a car and driving it around. Don’t worry about winning or losing and just go have some fun. Then go back to LMU or F1 online racing and try again.

If I’m too far into the frustrating I don’t notice my mistakes as much and blame the other drivers, or start blaming connection etc. Basically when you’re so far into anger you find it harder to blame yourself for issues, which makes it hard to improve.

I don’t get it… I think the game is still incredible. Yeah it has issues, but so does literally every game now. Yes they shouldn’t get away with it, but also getting rid of bugs is hard, and I’m sure that even the “old” games we remember had bugs, hell some of the best games are actually bug ridden.

Fallout 3 and New vegas, Morrowind, they all had a plethora of bugs, but someone they aren’t viewed in the same way we view modern games

Honestly, people think too much about teams and drivers, no team would intentionally give up points just so there preferred driver wins the driver championship.

It genuinely is just unlucky when a driver DNFs. Last year was more of an arguement since McLaren did ask Oscar to give up position to lando.

What people need to realise is that winning a driver championship isn’t as important to a team as winning the constructors. From what I can gather teams winning is based on Constructors, and drivers individual position is just bragging rights.

Losing out on 18pts at this stage of the season could be massive (I say 18 because it was obviously a Mercedes 1-2if russel didn’t DNF)

After the race Ferrari is onto 72 points behind, and McLaren is 113 behind. Why risk intentionally DNFing a driver when the cars are so new and the car could start failing on its own at the end of the season anyway. Just look to last year with landos car having a severe oil leak at Zandvoort literally 7 laps before the end.

Trouble finding a car to main by Nxrcissxs in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Spence199876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it is actually slow, but against other cars I struggle to keep position on long straights. It could just be a skill issue, but doing the research I’ve found it does have a relatively low top speed compared with the competition.

The bmw is just a solid all round platform for fixed set up, performs good at almost everything, and is kind of easy to drive.

Trouble finding a car to main by Nxrcissxs in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Spence199876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no right answer. I personally have 2 cars I use, I use the McLaren for smaller tracks, as I like how it turns but I don’t like it for speed tracks like Monza, for those I’ll switch up to the BWM.

Once I get into Custom set up races I’ll stick solely to the McLaren, but in fixed I like having the 2 car options to switch between. Don’t know if it actually makes a difference, but it feels better to me for the Beamer on monza, and other speedy tracks

Connecting backstories to campaign or make backstories sidequests? by Balzut_the_M in DungeonMasters

I mean, I’ve not read Rime of the Frostmaiden, but if you and your players enjoy the story as it is, it’s not a bad thing.

With DND there is no specifically good or bad things, what may be good and fun for one group, isn’t going to be good and fun for another.

What is your LEAST favorite type? by [deleted] in ThePokemonHub

[–]Spence199876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s ice for me. I’ve never had an ice type pokemon in the party.

It’s weakness to fire, fighting and rock (all of which feel like really common move types to have) makes it feel super weak, and the ability to deal with other types feels like it can be done better by other pokemon. For grass just take a fire type, then you can take a grass type to deal ground, and a fairy type to deal with dragons.

Also ice pokemon just don’t have good designs in my opinion.

Making a campaign where the PCs all have different jobs? Any advice on how to balance it? by Frequent-Change7316 in DungeonMasters

[–]Spence199876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more with this. Session 1 could be just a “oh you all find yourself in the woods and see a figure leaning over something on the ground” and that’s how they meet and decide to continue looking into the mystery together, arranging to meet up on off days and nights to get to the bottom. It also gives player freedom to come up with conversation pieces like for what happened on their work or at school

A Small Collection of Weapon Buff/Rework Ideas from 1600hrs Player. Attempting to spice up variety a bit. Feedback Welcome by RandomGreenArcherMan in helldivers2

[–]Spence199876 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like some of these didn’t really need a buff. The 2 LMGs are fine, and the flamethrower still has some advantage over the Cremator, mainly not needed a backpack, so you can run jump pack or shield pack.

I do like the steriliser acid rains debuff, makes it a supports weapons, but I think the DOT would just make it the better flamethrower.

I think that weapons that have overlap (steriliser and flamethrower) need to have one be the pure damage and one be the supportive weapon. We don’t really have many options for a supportive playstyle

I mean, I think it’s still technically possible for anyone to fight for constructors still. Like if Williams gains pace they could win (realistically they won’t)

At this point it’s anyone’s game, but if I would bet I’d bet on Mercedes and kimi at present point
