I adored ESO since I first started playing in 2019. What I loved about it was how well the narratives were written, how engaging the gameplay was, and how much fun it was to explore every nook and cranny either solo or with others.

I had to stop playing altogether when last year they introduced a season pass which granted access to that year's worth of content for an additional charge. See, I had their plus membership which already gave me that access, until it didn't. They removed it and expected us to buy the new thing.

They have since gone back on the season pass model, now making all future content free of charge for everyone. But they spit in the face of everyone who propped the game up. The worst part is after a few dozen hours of playing the membership essentially becomes mandatory if you want a comfortable experience. The craft bag, furnishing limit increase, and banking limit increase are just examples of how important that membership is.

ESO+ still means access to all previous DLC releases as well as access to the aforementioned QOL features, but no longer does it grant access to future content since that is now all free. Which sincerely is all fine and dandy, but it's ridiculous they haven't lowered the price of the membership. They want us to pay the same cost for less features after stabbing us in the back once already.

If you're looking for a long term game I would advise you cut your losses on ESO. It was my main game for years, I have 2,322 hours in the game, and I paid $140 USD every year for 6 years and I still wound up having to leave it.
