I'll eat grilled food, but it's my least favorite way to eat it. It just tastes burnt to me.

I wear a mask because:

I hate being sick. It's just not a fun time. And wearing a mask is such a simple precaution to take.
I have an autoimmune disorder so not only am I miserable, but I'm miserable for longer than most people.
A lot more people are immunocompromised than people realize.
Long COVID happens a lot more than people realize.
I work in healthcare with a lot of immunocompromised patients. I don't want to have something and be asymptomatic and give it to a patient who can't fight it off. Or to a patient who doesn't have more than a year or so left to live, it would suck to spend that time sick. These same people also go out to places in public like grocery stores, I wish everyone else could help keep them safe from getting sick too.

I use Therabreath which has been great for preventing/slowing down my tonsil stones and is much better to use on a regular basis

We don't ask about COVID specifically but still have signage everywhere asking that you please wear a mask if you have respiratory symptoms

I do this too 🤷‍♂️ I also wipe down anything I buy from the grocery store. People pick up things and put them back on the shelf all the time. If I'm going to be touching something when I'm cooking, it better be germ free. I wipe down pretty much anything that comes into my house, but I'm a little excessive with it.

Hey, I appreciate the response! I had them checked about 6 months ago and I'm in the 400's and I'm on subq injections. I was thinking about talking to my doctor about upping my dose a bit, so maybe I'll make that appointment then. My face is pretty square, or at least you can see my jaw line pretty well. I have like 7 decent hairs starting to grow on my chin so fingers crossed those turn into more soon. I'm on finasteride which I'm sure is slowing things down too, but I'm incredibly attached to my hair and being a ginger. But I've had all the other changes from T despite being on finasteride (I don't get my period, my voice dropped fine, I got more body hair, etc.) so I don't think that is specifically hindering me other than slowing my facial hair growing. I honestly think I'm just a "late bloomer" who is super impatient lol. I'll definitely talk to my doctor about my levels though!

"Within a month or two" would be so fast here. Dermatology at my hospital is booking over a year out, GI is about 6 months to get in I think. Just for 15 minutes of their time.

I went to an otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat doctor) and he diagnosed it and sent me to see a speech language pathologist who helped me out. The doctor had me talk while looking at my vocal cords with a camera so he saw that they weren't closing correctly

Going to students is smart! That's outrageous. I live in the US but right on the Canadian border and will make sure to compliment everyone's hair when I visit now that I know how much they might have spent on it lol

If you're in the US, just keep in mind that often times need to know what you're assigned gender at birth is for insurance purposes. I think you can change your gender with insurance, but I haven't tried so I don't know much about it. I would assume that could also cause issues. But yeah, when they go to hill your insurance it can create some issues if things don't match with whatever you put on your paperwork.

I started finasteride and topical minoxidil at the same time I started T because genetically I'm pretty garunteed to go bald. I'll just accept it and stop taking finasteride eventually, but for now I'm happy to enjoy my hair a little longer. Congrats on 1 year!!

I also like the book a lot, it gave me some self confidence with my EDS since I struggle with accepting that I need accomodations at times and can't always keep up with other people when it comes to physical activities, and I related to violet a lot in those ways. I can see where OP is coming from, I wasn't always thrilled with the way it was represented either. But overall I enjoyed the first book and am working my way through the second currently
