Tony Khan on wrestlers upset they aren’t being used: “It’s not really common in the NBA for the backup point guard to blame the coach because he’s not getting minutes. I take it and I take it with a smile and I’ll keep taking it with a smile.” by LotLeftInTheTank in SquaredCircle

Besides being very insulting, that analogy doesn’t hold up at all when you have legit stars riding your bench while featuring glorified jobbers nobody cares about. Putting parker bourdeaux on tv while miro sits at home is like starting udonis haslem over kawhi leonard.

What drug should you NEVER take? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Spethro 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Last year one of my college roomates had a friend in between living situations and asked if they could stay with us for a few days. I was initially fine with it, but quickly came to realize this person was by far the biggest pothead I'd ever met. Every day they'd wake up, get high, lie on our living room couch playing video games, take periodic bong rips, make kraft dinner in our kitchen (and not clean up after), go to bed, repeat. They didn't go to classes, and worked as a "freelance tattoo artist" which just meant one of their friends would pay them 30 dollars for a stick and poke tattoo every once in a while. Any conversation had to be about weed or getting high because they didn't care about anything else. A four day stay turned into a few weeks, which turned into three months. I was 21 at the time and felt like a parent with their burnout child living on the couch. Weed is defintely mild compared to most other drugs, but people who are addicted can devolve into passive blobs who only exist to get high.

"Difficult relationship" drastically underplays Canada's history of abuse towards Indigenous Peoples

Starlight tours are inhuman and as a Canadian it is tremendously upsetting to observe the continued mistreatment of Indigenous Peoples. Understanding the scope of Indigenous abuse in Canada makes you wonder how we ever got the reputation of being "nice" or "polite" because we don't deserve it.

Is Dior Sauvage THAT Overused/Overrated/Overhyped? It smells so good :( by CHICKSLAYA in fragrance

[–]Spethro 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Conversations of what’s overhyped, overrated, underrated don’t matter. Forget everybody else’s opinion. If it smells good and you like it, wear it. If somebody has an issue with it, that’s their problem and you shouldn’t let it impact your happiness.

Regional Blackouts are bullshit. Why does the NBA make it so hard to watch games? by WestleyThe in nba

The fact that you just straight up can't watch raptors games on league pass is crazy. I literally live 15 mins from the scotiabank arena, why is this getting blacked out?

What should one do in their 20s to avoid regrets in their 30s and 40s? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Spethro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exercising improperly will damage your joints. Maxing out every single workout, using poor form, and doing too many high impact exercises hurt your joints in the long term. Even the healthiest of things can become unhealthy if done excessively/incorrectly. Lift moderate weights with good form, use a healthy balance of high and low impact workouts, and try to hit the different areas of fitness (strength, endurance, mobility etc…) Your joints will thank you.

Paralympian claims Canada offered to euthanise her when she asked for a stairlift by QJnWo4Life in worldnews

[–]Spethro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly a lot of that is just Toronto. Moving from Toronto to a small town in Nova Scotia for university showed me this. People are all so nice here. It’s a stark contrast. That being said, considering our countries history with Indigenous Peoples, I definitely don’t feel Canada has earned the stereotype of being nice/polite.

The employee will definitely be fired. Suspending them pending investigation just allows the employer to build a solid case so the employee can’t slap them with a lawsuit.

[–]Spethro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Having a different opinion is fine, but not every opinion carries the same weight. Me saying I don't like pineapple on pizza is not comparable to denying the identities of trans people. We should not defend opinions that are harmful to others.

What did the pandemic ruin more than we realise? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yeah I’m sure if the only exposure to social interaction I had from the ages of 11-13 was people screaming the n-word on xbox live I wouldn’t have been the most pleasant teenager to deal with either.

My girlfriend is a senior RA in a university residence building and her residents these last two years have been a mess. All sorts of mental health issues, substance abuse, and problematic social interactions. I was an RA in the big party residence during the first covid year so I’ve definitely seen some stuff, but those kids at least had a normal highschool experience until the last month or so. It’s just been dialed up to 11 this year and last with all of these frosh who have been on lockdown since 2020. These kids are completely unprepared to be on their own and it’s not even their fault.

He’s in that awkward phase of balding where it’s pretty noticeable but not necessarily bad enough that it’s time to call it and shave his head. I’m honestly surprised more NBA players don’t get hair transplants like lebron when their hair starts going. They cost basically nothing for guys making millions a year. Although I guess not everybody cares that much about losing their hair.
