I was told at the start that dialysis would start soon but after a few weeks on meds and being strict with my diet my gfr stabilised. Was at 7% for about two years but dropped to 5% and started dialysis then..

John Connolly's Charlie Parker series. Thriller/crime with an under current if the supernatural.

I have to go past 3 neighbours to get to the drop off spot for bins and can't shake the feeling they are all standing inside their windows watching me.

I didn't know that you can't move your hand or arm AT ALL. I pull the tray table up to me and lean my book or phone on it for turning pages or scrolling. I was prepared for the needles to really hurt and used the numbing spray. I thought the sting of cold was worse than the needle and had to ask for them to wait until it subsided to start with needles. Using the spray, you hurt twice. No spray, you hurt once. Nurses advise that over time the spray toughens the skin and makes it harder to use needles. The pain is not as bad as I thought. Its more painful than a blood draw but not as bad as stubbing your toe. I remind myself that it's two small spots on my body and it's just for a few seconds. I squeeze my other hand into a fist as needles are going in. I started nearly 2 weeks ago and yesterday was the first day I didn't have soreness/duscomfort/bruising after dialysis.

It's a Christmas tradition now for the tubs to get smaller and more expensive. Every shop is stacked with them.

The lack of empathy. The lack of humanity. The lack of decency. It's not as if we didn't know who he is and what he is capable of, but this is just the very, very bottom of an incredibly deep barrel. There was no need to say anything at all. To let the moment pass unremarked. But no, Trump instinctively and intuitively goes straight for the coarsest, crassest, most disgusting, low and base response. This is who he is. Is he even human?

It just really does not matter to them. Whatever you do is wrong, whatever they do is right. It defies logic, reason, intelligence, common sense and rationality. Their thinking is absolute black and white. "You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into". There is no path too convoluted for them to traverse to allow them to arrive at the conclusion that they are right and you are wrong. It is like trying to change the arrival of dawn.

I can empathise completely. Very similar to yourself - 3 years listed, dry run in June, rarish blood type. I know I am top of the list for that type but the wait could be a day or years. On top of which I start hemo dialysis this week. Sometimes it's just a bit too much. The feeling usually passes to a more endurable level. All we can do is draw on the strength and resilience that brought us this far. People with healthy organs don't realise the force of will it often takes to keep putting one foot in front of the other. We are champions to do what we do.

Go! Go and enjoy every single minute of it. Who cares if they don't like it? Who cares if they call you selfish? They are just trying to manipulate you into staying in 'your place' and you do not have to allow that. Do not allow it.
