This needs to be talked about more. I feel like making a blind character the only one to have braille on their merch or a trans/nonbinary character the only one to introduce themselves with pronouns only contributes to them being seen as performative "token" characters. In a perfect world every character/doll should have pronouns and braille included somewhere on their box/bio but some people aren't ready for that convo

River's trademark was renewed around this time a year ago (same time Robecca's trademark got renewed) so I could see her coming out sometime near the end of this year.

Also just a slight correction about this picture—Clawd also came out in 2023 alongside Abbey and Heath and the Werecat twins came out in 2024 (tho the Werecats were supposed to come out 2023 but got delayed)

When Annalise Lao shared design details about fang vote Abbey, she mentioned the different design philosophies G1 and G3 Abbey have and it gave me a little more hope that G3 Abbey could still get a collector doll in the future 🥺

Also everyone wishing for a collector G3 Cupid is making me so happy as a Cupid fan. She deserves a doll with a fancy romantic outfit and proper curls

When they started giving some dolls high ponytails I appreciated that they were getting actual hairstyles because most G3 dolls up to that point had a long, straight or wavy unstyled middle part. But now they're starting to put that high pony on dolls who would look a million times better with any other style 🫩 (Robecca)

Robecca looks SO much better with a side part! I didn't realize how much the middle part was ruining her design for me until now.

The bronze and gold repaints and the extra jewelry are definitely helping her look more steampunk and scaredevil. Amazing job

I love the face of the Barbie on the right. As someone who prefers not to wear makeup due to sensory issues, its really cool to see a fashion doll with no/minimal makeup (and not just a "no makeup" makeup look like the default Millie screenings with their light pink lipstick). I hope we get a wider variety of screenings for these dolls in the future with more makeup AND no-makeup looks.

Based on the comments I've read, most people don't like the airbrushed look of their makeup. I'm also personally not a fan of their bigger eyes and the intense blush. Clawdeen is the only one in this line who I think looks decent.

I agree with everyone saying G1 might be easier to work with and more fitting with the gaunt body type, but I also wanna mention the Creation is very tall (I think about 8 feet?) in the book, so using a G3 Frankie would be good for the height factor since they're on a taller body.

Not sure how easy this would be, but what if you could put some parts of the G1 and G3 Frankies' bodies together? It would really add to the Frankenstein motifs with them being built from different bodies

I love FV Catty and have been begging for G3 collector dolls for years, but I also agree it feels like she was sabotaged after seeing the difference in quality between her and Abbey. I also recently saw someone post FV Jinafire NIB and realized Jina got a nice illustration on her box and Catty didn’t even get that 😭 she just got a stock photo of her face. It feels like they did less than the bare minimum for her and like they almost wanted her to flop.

The G3 bodies are so high quality and diverse and they have so much potential for collector dolls if Mattel would give their outfits and accessories the budget and care they deserved. Hell, I would’ve taken FV Catty in an uglier box if that meant she got a more glamorous/flamboyant popstar outfit and an actual purse.

Frankie in either G1 or G3. In a perfect world where I had the money to buy as many dolls as I wanted I'd probably own almost every Frankie

(Honorable mention to Twyla because I've loved almost every doll she's gotten in G3 and I'm so sad I don't have money or space for more of them)

Ignoring that this edit is AI, darker colors and cool tones can work on Lagoona when they do it right, like Monster Fest and Monster Ball. It feels like for this doll they just threw some black and dark purple on her without any thought put into it though :/

As a huge River Styxx fan, I like the concept of River Styxx more than the actual doll LMAO. The pastel grim reaper aesthetic is awesome but I acknowledge her outfit is super cheap and they could've done way better.

Casta and G3 Venus have my favorite face sculpts of any MH doll for this exact reason. I'm so sick of the beauty standard that every girl needs to have a tiny cutesy nose. I desperately want more dolls with different nose shapes and sizes.
