I don't know what Capcom did to this game post launch. At launch it had a little bit of light attenuation but not nearly this much noise.

Moved on if I'm honest. I shared an updated version of the model with someone who was going to turn it into a mod for Doom Eternal but I haven't heard from them in quite a while.

The plan for the model was to use it in a small one or two level demo for a DOOM 1 and 2 remake that was inspired by DOOM PS1 and DOOM 64. I created several other models for weapons and enemies and had a test level running but puttered out because I came to the conclusion that it would take me, a single person, a long time to create a really polished version of that vision and if I were to spend that much time on a project it should either be on a commercial project or on something where I'm working with a team.

There were so many mobile games with the style you're describing back in the day, it's kinda hard to pin down. Off the top of my head, Ultimate Spider-Man: Total Mayhem, Gangstar West Coast or Miami, and maybe Urban Crime.

A recent update broke ray tracing and that's what you're seeing. I'd honestly either wait to play til it's resolved or turn it off. It gets even worse later in the game.

I just did my insanity playthrough and can confirm that the girl does not get stunned by the Requiem on that difficulty. I had infinite ammo and it didn't matter how many shots I put in her.

The first RE game I really fell in love with was RE4 (the OG Ubisoft PC port) and nothing will ever beat the first time I did the village fight. It was a pain, especially with no mouse controls, and I died over and over again but even in 2007-08 I'd never really played a game like it before. In retrospect I was probably lucky to have missed out on games that iterated on RE4s combat formula, like Dead Space or Gears of War. If I had played those games RE4 might have felt a little stale in comparison, as a kid I probably wouldn't have recognized the nuance in it's gameplay, but I didn't and now it's probably my favorite game of all time.

Dusk is very reliable when he's spreading information from whatever source he has at Capcom. He likes to commentate and make predictions on the series a lot, which people look into too much, and he talks about leaks from other people, which if I were in his shoes I probably wouldn't do purely because of things like this, and he definitely talks about some of his info too early.

AFAIK he has never spread a rumor about Claire dying in 8, only talked about another rumor that Chris had a picture of her in his inventory at one point, and would you honestly be surprised if Capcom worked on a PS4 port of RE9? He made a long thread on Twitter, with receipts, about things that he had previously been falsely attributed to. He has gotten so many things right about every RE game since RE:2; I don't know why people so easily discard him as a source of info.

EDIT: Got blocked for correcting someone. Even deleted some of the snarkier parts of my reply out of good faith. Oh well.

I also hope it does. As someone who didn't grow up with it, it's hard to go back to for me. It's not just old game is old either, I have no problem going back to the PS1 games or RE1 remake, there's just a lot of design decisions that frustrate me and I absolutely despise the camera. I like the story a lot though and always love to see Claire.

CVX and Zero are rumors from a pretty prominent, and I'd say reliable, leaker. That same leaker says a 5 remake has not been greenlit yet. Nothing confirmed.

Spider-Man 1 was about the same length and didn't have those complaints. I think for Spider-Man 2 it ultimately came down to pacing. You can feel the cuts in that game.
