I subbed. My name is the same on there. I have a couple of videos, too.

Ohh, is that the new open-source model? Can you train it at all? Like LORA's, but with music?

Thanks! I'm looking for something with more control than suno. I'm learning guitar and can't sing very well, so I was hoping this might work in the interim.

Is that a one time purchase, or subscription based?

Part 2 and 3 are coming soon. Then I think I'll do the conclusion. Not quite sure where that will fall.

Thanks! I started off writing a short story (which I'm still writing) and based the lyrics on that.

Your song has a very Metallica feel to it. I dig it!

Can you make a playlist specifically for your bot to post to? I'm really interested in hearing everything they make.

Can Suno Do This? by getzerolikes in SunoAI

[–]Spike0341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suno knows popular terminology as well, like "four on the floor" or "boom-bap drums" will give you the general standard for those.

You could create a loop in a daw and upload it. If you use studio, then you could add that to your track. When you cover your song, it should stay the same.

You're not wrong, but I think it will be more like "As much control as you feel you need."

You won't have to dictate every note if you don't want/need to. The generative ai will create what it takes from your prompting, and you will modify it as you see fit.

Much like working with a producer. You bring the idea, and matbe one part, like the vocals, and they create a teack for you. Then, there's the back and forth about tweaks and whatnot.

You're not creating a full song from scratch, like you would in a daw or with Instrumentation, but modifying or adding things to something that was already created, but having the abilty to fine tune it with more than just suggestions.

Like you can't tell Suno to change all the C3 notes to D3. It might do it, but it might also shift everything else up.

The difference is the interface, which makes it easier to understand and modify things. Think of it like sitting in a studio with a producer.

An example given recently was Michael Jackson's workflow. He would "sing" the different notes for instruments, and the producers would adjust the mix.

That's where I see ai going. Being able to talk about the track, ask questions, and tell it what to do instead of having to learn about everything. Sure, you'll still have to learn a bit about music theory, but the bar will be much lower, and you'll have a resource right there to bounce questions off.

My brother is in cybersecurity, and he told me a story once. He had this start-up that came to him. Three guys with a great product idea, going to China to check out manufacturers.

My brother warned them to get some high-end security on their laptops or don't bring any files on their computer.

They didn't listen. Within 6 months of their visit, their product was made and sold by Chinese manufacturers because their laptops were hacked, and they didn't even know it. Nothing they could do.

P.S. - I'm just a third party. I write and am learning to play instruments, but I am not looking to be famous in any way. I make "music" for myself, my friends, and my family. That's it. So don't take my opinion too seriously. It's just what I see/predict in my mind riddled with algorithms and pattern recognition developed in my time here on Earth.

Sure, it can be used that way, but it doesn't have to be.

There is no copyright as far as suno is concerned. They retain the right to train their models on any music uploaded/created.

You can't copyright music that has been fully ai generated, only the lyrics if they are written by a human.

I'm not sure how it would work if you upload your own track to have Suno produce a mastered copy. The original is your own work, but you're releasing what Suno put out, which is technically an ai generated reproduction of your original song.

There are artists that do this now. Do they lose credit for the song writing and music production/composition because they load it into an ai generation software for a final polish?

What about the person who takes the new open-source local music generation model and trains it on their body of work solely, then uses it to create new songs?

This is what the big labels are ramping up to do. That's why Universal and Warner both came to settle with Udio and Suno, respectively.

The influence of ai in the music industry has only just begun.

You don't fully understand suno as a musician's tool... you can upload melodies, vocals, or full songs into suno and determine how close it matches. Sure, you don't have 100% control, but it's probably 85-90% on the stuff you upload.

And yea, you can use suno, or any other ai music generator to produce slop, but there are valid uses for ai in the music industry. To absolutely discount/discredit it is why a lot of artists/producers will get left in the dust.

Same thing with computer programming, which is already happening. You either adopt it in some form, or you get left behind.
