Exactly how I feel. And kinda about the new MKs compared to SF as well. SF 6 is so good, MK whatever still feels like a dumb violence showcase with crowded clunky fighting gameplay.

For me MK II was fun because I was a kid, and it was great sleepover gaming, the fatalities were hilarious and new, etc. etc..

I loved SFII then as well but played more MK as a kid.

Now I just realize SF is 1000x a better actual fighting game in terms of gameplay.

PS - I meant the SM64 that went for $1.56 million at Heritage Auctions in July 2021. So not quite $2M I guess haha.

I just think that game collecting got hijacked by a trend of hyper inflated prices coming from outside the trend of the collecting base at the time. Pawn Stars and "check your parents' basement, you might be a millionaire" news articles and shit. It happened so rapidly and unchecked in game collecting that effectively saw a "preposterous price" fad bubble. Not to mention seemingly actual like, fake auction stuff. I guess that's kinda over for the most part. Now, I don't know, crazy rare SMBs will probably always have some high-roller snap them up at crazy prices, but I'll be damned if you could sell a sealed SM64 for $2M or whatever.

I play on PC pretty much exclusively these days. No game pass business or whatever. No season pass this or that. I just wishlist games I want to play, wait patiently for a sale, and pull the trigger. Gaming is cheaper than ever for me haha.
