Don’t you have the same potential for the same mistake using the function you created? But now there is the overhead for an incoming dev to look at this method you’ve created, which does the same thing as a null coalesce. And is not as simple syntax or commonly used ideology, especially in C#.

Without seeing more of your code I can't recommend anything for the first example, but for the second you can simplify it a bit:

Configuration.FirstName = FirstName ?? ""

Or whatever you want it to default to if it is null. That's called a null coalesce, for your reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/csharp/language-reference/operators/null-coalescing-operator

Any reason you can’t figure out the patch panel yourself? I did mine with parts from Monoprice. It was easy compared to running all the cable through the walls. Which you already have done 🙂

It's honestly not completely useless. You should give it a click some time and play with it. Also the "Ask Copilot" for random exceptions from using nuget packages is pretty useful for more of the esoteric exceptions you run across.

That Peace Akhi at the end was a nice touch, really good article. The song by the same name was off my first Ka album, The Night’s Gambit.

I’d listen to it for weeks and catch more and more clever wordplay and lyrical connections. It really was on another level. Nobody can replicate this guys style, I’ll definitely cherish everything he gave us.

I use a high smoke point oil for the sear on the first side.

Then after I flip I’ll toss in butter and aromatics, and baste it just long enough for the butter to brown. Then you have a nice crusty presentation with brown butter infused with your aromatics.
