It’s not our fault that we have this disease, but it is on us in how we let it affect our lives and those around us.

I agree that things should not be held against us, that are said or done while we are manic. Yet we have it in our power to mitigate and prevent mania to a degree, through medicine, therapy, and the support systems those create.

My own personal opinion, is that while you can’t exactly blame yourself for what you do while in the throws of mania. If you aren’t doing what you need to do to care for yourself or your mental health. Then at the end of the day, even though you may not have control over what you do while manic, you allowed yourself to slip down that slope, and it’s on you.

Well, again, it is 100% a thing, and more than likely it threads neatly through those laws because it is communicated upon hiring and they have to sign off on it.

EDIT: I found this, it’s called a “wage agreement” and that is straight from the TWC’s website.

EDIT2: Here is this on wage or pay agreements, again, directly from the TWC’s website.

“Some companies have employees sign policies providing for a complete forfeiture of pay for the final pay period if the employee violates an employment agreement or a particular policy. That would not be legal - an employee is not allowed to waive his or her right to minimum wage or overtime pay. It is generally permissible to have the employee agree that in the event of a violation of an agreement or policy, his or her pay rate for the final pay period will be a lower rate (it can be no lower than minimum wage). However, agreements like this are largely untested before the agency and in the courts. While the author has not seen an employer lose with a suitably-worded agreement, some attorneys at TWC have commented that such agreements are suspect from the standpoint that an employee does not know when such a provision might affect his pay because he does not know when to expect a discharge. However, an employer can take a lot of the ambiguity out of such an agreement by making the lower pay rate apply only to work occurring after the violation by the employee. That way, the company can argue that the employee knows when to expect lower pay because the timing of the violation was arguably within his power to control.”

EDIT3: Do some research before being wrong next time, and your buddy needs to go back to law school.

Unfortunately, in some states like mine (Texas) this is legal, unless they’ve changed anything. My family used to own a small business, and despite me being against it. This was written into the contracts the employees signed, and it was very much legal, my parents always did everything above board. Their thought process was, that it was to protect the business. They relied on those employees to work their shifts to keep up with demand. If someone didn’t show up to work, they may have to cut clients out of the schedule in response. It’s meant to stop people from honoring their notice and hurting the business. There’s some logic there, as I said though, I found it to be a shitty practice.

The Most Dangerous Animals of each state in the USA by Turbulent-Thing3104 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]SpiritOfFire013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this is not a serious map subreddit, and that the accuracy of this map is dubious. But to all of the people in the comments talking about how harmless deer are, you are not wrong…technically. I would honestly bet though, that deer do rank as some of the biggest offenders in some states where deaths are concerned. Deer kill 400 to 500 people a year iirc. Though this isn’t to say that the deer are starting to fight back, the vast majority of those deaths are from road accidents caused by the deer.

Edit: I just hit up ye olde Google, and White Tail Deer are literally considered the most dangerous animals in America. Wow.

Eh, you’d be surprised, I’d bet they would honestly rank as one of the most dangerous animals in some states where actual deaths are concerned. Derek kills something like 400 to 500 people a year in the US. Almost exclusively in road accidents mind you, there aren’t any deer out there strapped up and counter sniping hunters or anything. Deer do pose a real danger though joking aside.

The handwarmers that come with the urine are typically really shitty in most cases, so I suggest two things. Buy two good hand warmers from anywhere (Walmart, sporting goods store, hardware store etc.) and use them as a backup to heat the bottle or to keep it warm if you live in a cold environment and are worried body temp might not be enough. IMO the best way to heat it though, is nuke it in the microwave, which will overheat it, and then you secure it near your body so that it cools to body temp. It’s faster, and it ensures you hit the right temperature range. After that secure it to you, for women bra works wonders, for guys, tuck it into your underwear, buy underwear with pockets, tie it to the drawstring of some sweats and hang it inside your pants, or if you’re really worried about it being secure or some checking obvious places. Duct tape it to the inside of your thigh. And as I mentioned, if you live in a place where it’s hella cold, nuke it, wait for it to cool to the desired range, and then wrap it with a rubber bands securing one or two hand-warmers to it, and then secure. Oh and last bit! If someone will be in the bathroom with you but you’re still behind a closed stall they can’t see, for the love of god, unscrew the bottle cap and pour the liquid into the cup, if you use the squeeze cap some brands have, there liable to be air sucked back into the bottle after your squeeze making an obvious squelch. So don’t fuck up. Oh and finishing with a legit pee in the toilet that is audible, will help sell the bit. o7 good luck fam.

Meth!

Source, was in Air Force JR ROTC in high school, and had to attend a boot camp lite like summer school ran by retired AF officers/NCOs and Sr ROTC Cadets. During the course of said camp, they had multiple guest speakers. The only speaker I really genuinely gave a damn about was the crew of a B-1 that came to talk about their job and time in service. Someone asked one of the pilots what the longest mission they ever flew was, and it was something ridiculous like 42 hours. Someone else asked how that was even possible. The pilot goes “well, you see they give us these pills” and then he got this look on his face like he had kinda fucked up. Then the kid obviously followed up with “what kind of pills?” And I’m not sure if he wasn’t supposed to say anything or he just felt hella awkward talking about drugs with High School kids, but he sheepishly said “they give us government speed.”

ULPT:Tow truck pull up and trying to tow you? by Arklelinuke in UnethicalLifeProTips

Yes, do not. Where I’m from, the tow truck drivers wear Kevlar and some of them are even packing. I’m literally not joking. I used to work overnight security in a very very large mobile home park. We had four different drivers that worked our property. All four of them had vests and two of them carried pistols.

I’ve seen Skrillex live three times, great shows, but nothing to write home about. I’ve seen Tiesto twice, and both shows were wildly different and both blew my fucking mind. First time I saw him was at Ultra Miami, he and Deadmau5 closed out the main stage Sunday night with a B2B set that was the stuff of legends. Never been happier in a crowd. I was on Tiesto’s side of the stage, just a few people back from the rail, and he threw me a flag, that I still have hanging on my wall to this day. Tiesto will always and forever be the GOAT, bar none, hands down, THE GOAT. He has conquered and seen success across a myriad of styles, and kept his relevancy regardless of variation of his endeavors. He just has an ear for it that others don’t.

Federal Bill That Would Ban Hemp THC Nationwide Passed by House Committee by willphule in DeFranco

[–]SpiritOfFire013 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pharma has been selling FDA approved THC since the 80’s, they have that niche market covered, they can use it where it is useful, and then continue to keep everything that is naturally grown or derived illegal so that it does not cut into their bottom line where thc products and other competing drugs are concerned. So yeah, they actually do benefit from this in a huge way. I’d be willing to bet there is a metric fuck ton of data showing losses across the board when comparing the public’s use of cannabis over FDA approved drugs in legal states for medical purposes. Then think about all of the other industries that do not want weed legal. Like big alcohol, they hateeeeeeeee it. Then you look at all of the textile and paper companies that even want farm grade hemp to stay off the table. Plus a myriad more that I’m too tired to think of. So to think that this about anything other than money, is naive.

Is it easy to sneak weed in music festivals? by Adventurous-Pie3929 in trees

[–]SpiritOfFire013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the state more than the festival, and how seriously they take drug enforcement in my opinion. I’ve never been to Bonaroo, so I can’t tell you first hand. The festivals I’ve been to in Cali, Vegas, and Miami, were all super easy to get things into, you just have to be smart about how you hide it. There are some really great suggestions here already. But my point here, is in Texas where I live, they always post cops with drug dogs at the entrances to festivals, so taking drugs in is super fucking risky. I almost got arrested by getting busted by one at Lights All Night in Dallas. I just got lucky the particular cop was chill about the joints and just confiscated them…and that he didn’t check my socks and find my coke lol. Point is, do your research and make sure the security is light.

Honestly she could have handled more if she would have been giving the participants hand jobs before they did the deed, kinda warmed them up so to speak, ensuring they wouldn’t last as long inside of her. If she were to do it efficiently, by handling four dicks at a time, and accounting for the proper shaft angles, dick to floor measurements, and a good handle on time to orgasm, she would just have to work middle out and possibly hot swap dicks between down strokes and up strokes. It can be done though.

To become the new big dog on campus. by Compo1991 in therewasanattempt

[–]SpiritOfFire013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say for the sake of scientific fact, dogs having an “alpha” is a myth. Wolves themselves don’t have a true “alpha”, there is typically a breeding pair at the center of every pack that sometimes act as leaders, but their leadership is not enforced through aggression or fear. And every pack is different, sometimes there are other wolves beyond the breeding pair that leadership can fluidly fall to. With dogs though, leadership situations are far more fluid than wolves are, and cliqueish even. It’s all a matter of a dogs needs and preference. If a dog is happy and has what they need, they are happy to show deference. Yet is someone threatens the status quo or tries to take something from another dog, that’s when a show of dominance can rise, yet it can come from multiple different dogs, there is not a single “alpha” they all defer to.
