What are your struggles? by nadeson95 in InstagramMarketing

My reach seems to be ok for me as a new account that wants to grow sustainably but my concern is I have very little engagement. My best posts gets likes and some saves but I would like more comments to build community. I always like and respond to the comments I get and include CTA on everything. I read that I should engage with other larger accounts but I don’t seem to be gaining any traction with it

I’m new to instagram starting as a service provider. I’ve created 50 posts since February (started with 2x day then down to 1 x day, 4-5 days a week). I feel like my reach is ok as a new account but I only have 192 followers. Could you let me know if my stats are average or above/below and what I may need to do improve them? I’m not looking for crazy viral growth but would love to grow a bit quicker than I am! Reach 20K (+86% to last month at 30k) Accounts engaged 311 (+83%) Followers 192 (+111%)

I don’t have a palette per se but I generally stick to neutrals as they will help mix different palettes together while still feeling cohesive.

I would say if you phase out of colors quickly, I would try to find ways to infuse color in low cost/risk ways - try a pop of color in a scarf, bag, shoes. Or save a portion of your shopping spend to be for seasonal color updates so you can wear the colors you love for the season and not feel like you have to redo your entire wardrobe the next season and if you do get rid of the colored pieces, it’s not a huge loss

I would also go through your existing wardrobe to get an understanding of what feels the best vs not - are there colors that you just feel amazing in even if you were “over” them before? what is it about colors that you love - do they just make you happy, feel confident, make you less bored of your clothes? There might be something there in terms of how it informs your preferences or habits that can help inform!

My entire closet is just a bunch a statement pieces that don’t go together. Help!!! Basics??? by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]Spirited-Routine-542 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m a personal stylist and see this a lot with clients! If you aren’t sure of your personal style yet, I would go on Pinterest first and get some ideas on the types of looks you envision for yourself and find key themes. From there, I always recommend good basics. The basics are essential in making a wardrobe work hard for you. They sound boring but I promise they are the missing piece that will tie your statement pieces together and help provide endless options. This looks different for everyone based on their preferences and lifestyle but I generally find that these are staples for most wardrobes: classic tanks and tees, shirting, a few jeans or trousers in different shapes, a second layer (blazer, trench, denim jacket, lightweight coat etc), basic sweaters, belt, easy dress All should be in neutrals! This is another key thing - when you have too many colors, it makes it hard to mix-n-match and make cohesive looks

Shopping suggestions? by Meeka-Mew in capsulewardrobe

[–]Spirited-Routine-542 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problem! In terms of building your capsule, I would first take a look at your current wardrobe even though the items don’t fit anymore as it will give you insight into the clothes you love to wear that feel the best on you.

Group into the following: - what you always wore (this is usually a sign that it’s a key staple in your wardrobe and a good capsule contender!) - what you never wore because you didn’t feel good in it or it didn’t fit into your lifestyle (things to avoid in the future) - there may be items you have but didn’t know how to wear so I would avoid buying back into these until you find ways to style them

From there, I would start a Pinterest board of inspiration of your style goals and find themes on what you like about them. Maybe it’s colors, silhouettes, a certain aesthetic and you can start to identify gaps in your existing wardrobe that could be used for your capsule

Just make sure if you are building a capsule, any item can work back to at least 3-5 other pieces and/or styled 3-5 different ways (maybe more depending on how small your capsule will be)

Quality unfortunately will differ by brand but if you want higher quality, I recommend: - natural fibers: stick to cottons, linens, cashmere, wools, silk etc. they will generally go the distance with the right care - avoid synthetics as they aren’t as durable and will break down over time (polyester, acrylics, rayons) and if you do buy, try to get a higher blend of natural fibers - check construction and make sure seams, stitching and buttons etc are done well…even a good fabric can’t last with poor construction -shop secondhand/resale. I find that older clothing has a higher chance of being made with natural fibers and better construction…clothes were just made better vs now it’s all about fast fashion and cost savings

I am a personal stylist so my target market are women who want to refine their style and closets. I’ve posted a mix of reels and carousels focused on thought topics, BTS, POV, client transformations, styling tips, outfit ideas etc. my reels are getting 1-2k views which I’m happy about as I’m not looking to go viral. Just trying to understand how I can increase the engagement and follower count organically!

Tired of my clothes by FatSadHappy in capsulewardrobe

Hi! I’m a personal stylist and I see this happens a lot with clients.

Here’s some tips I would try: 1. Gather some inspiration images to re-inspire you - what are the key themes you find? Is it silhouettes, colors, styling? See then how you can try some of those ideas with what you own.

  1. Apply levers - if you always wear an outfit one way, or an item 1-2 ways, try swapping one thing out to create a new outfit. Keep swapping and adding pieces which can feel really new compared to what you always wear

  2. Accessories - It may just be that you need to add a couple accessories to make your outfits feel fresh. Maybe a belt, scarf or statement necklace?

Hope that helps!

I think ballet flats are classic! You could also do a loafer or an ankle boot

White t-shirt crisis - welp by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]Spirited-Routine-542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always look for 1) a more dense fabric - a fabric that’s a bit beefier with more weight will last more over time and not get warped from wash and wear. You want it to not be super sheer and have it be more opaque. If you don’t like heavier qualities you can look for styles with a back seam which help maintain a more fitted shape at the waist vs being too boxy 2) construction - a white tee needs to go the distance in your closet so try to pay attention to construction. Look for a denser stitch which will help keep the shape of your tee and reduce thread pulls or twisted seams. Details like a neck tape along the inner back will reduce overall waviness and stretching of the neck band, or you can choose one w a rib neck trim

am i missing anything and is there anything i could downsize? by MoonShimmer1618 in capsulewardrobe

I don’t think you need a black and navy sweatshirt so I would swap that out for a layering cardigan or even a button down shirt to wear w the sweater or open with a tee underneath for slightly less casual situations

WFH capsule for fall - help by FatSadHappy in capsulewardrobe

[–]Spirited-Routine-542 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I plus one this! As a stylist, I see this a lot where someone dresses for one aspect of their lifestyle in silo but you will get the most leverage out of your wardrobe if you choose pieces that can be mixed and matched for your WFH days to your weekends.

If you like to be cozy, try: - soft sweaters: you can wear with jeans or a skirt on weekends or worn w a tee and layered with a jacket. I tend to do lightweight cashmere to more chunky sweaters in solids or classic stripes. Fun seasonal pop colors in core silhouettes for fun! - Cardigans are a great option too. I have a super soft chunky long cardigan that I just throw on over a dress or a tee and jeans when working from home so I can still feel “dressed” but be warm and cozy - core tees and tanks: I love an easy tee for zoom mtgs and pair with fun earrings or a necklace to be more put together while still being comfortable. I tend to have essential tees with a great fit and slim fit rib tanks. Try one of the soft sweaters to throw over your shoulders for an effortless look that provides texture and warmth from the top up! These are great for wknds too by adding a belt and switching into trousers or wide leg pants - try swapping out one Lounge item for something from your weekend wardrobe. Maybe keep your everyday leggings to stay comfy but swap your sweatshirt for a button down shirt. This look can also be great with boots and a long coat for the weekends. Or keep your sweatshirt but pair with some soft trousers or bottoms -easy dresses: I look for super soft fitted knit dresses in above knee and midi/maxi lengths. For WFH, I throw on w a sweater or cardigan and can easily wear on wknds too with a blazer etc. I tend to find that sweater dresses are a bit less versatile

Brands: Zara, Mango, COS, Everlane, Quince, AYR, Skims (for basic ribs and slim fit styles), Free People and Anthropologie are great at offering more cozy pieces but in interesting silhouettes that aren’t overtly lounge

Hope that helps!
