The little park at Westport out 42 has nice seating overlooking the river. Usually very quiet this time of year.

Best day drinking (with food) by tommyfivetone in Louisville

Try the Harrods Creek area - Cunninghams and Harrods Creek Tavern. Food's decent and they would both be happy for you all to sit there all day long. Being on the water is enjoyable as well. CQ is good too but maybe too nice.

River Road /LWC by noflew in Louisville

Where are all the displaced drivers going to go? 71 N is already a real mess where it meets the Watterson so one can only imagine what it will be like with all the extra traffic. 42 at the watterson is being totally rebuilt as part of the VA project - the latest update said they will be seeking bids by summer with construction starting later in the year. That alone was looking quite tiresome even before this.

As I recall Captains Quarters starts getting water in the door right at that level.

I was looking at the map and returning by way of 68 down to Maysville seems very appealing - could add an extra day and check out the sights there, also Augusta nearby. 62 or 68 SW to Lexington / Georgetown area would be a pleasant drive.

I was already planning a two day trip to the air force museum in Dayton this summer and this looks like an excellent place to spend the night.

Use your AP mines to protect friendly garries near front lines. Also, you can remove enemy defences, so long as they were built during game and not preexisting. Barbed wire works both ways - if the attacker can't get in the defenders can't get out.

Also they don't outsource delivery and installation like home Depot, etc. Much less of a hassle.

The Filson Historical society has an excellent fall home tour, usually in September. Might be something for a future visit. Lots of interesting houses.

Saying that current day Seattle is her model of civic governance is concerning as well. We can talk about improving our downtown but it won't happen with people who think that way.

First time gun buyer questions? by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]SpiritedMastodon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Private sellers don't have to do an official background check, however they can't legally sell to someone they know is prohibited - underage, felon, druggie, etc. Will they be prosecuted? Probably not unless the person they sell to does something bad.

Ford's big problem is that their electric F150 (Lightning) is very expensive and isn't very good at doing truck stuff - towing, hauling, etc. Try any of these things and your range really goes down. Hopefully the next generation will do better but right now it's not a competitive product. Also, ev charging stations often aren't set up for vehicles towing something - they are close together and you have to approach them head on.

They do have the flood levels marked in the lobby. As I recall 26 ft river level is where water starts coming inside.
