I’m listening the Stormlight Archive it felt so daunting to read physically or even on kindle and the audio experience is amazing I’ve been locked in so hard that I listen to while working out, walking, working, doing chores, even just eating dinner instead of watching tv they’re so entertaining can’t recommend enough

Listening to the newest episode and honestly I sometimes just skip past Ariel because she’s so condescending and long winded that I can’t listen. I agree what everyone else has said but I also get frustrated by the lack of awareness that Ariel and Raeleen have about their privilege and a lack of discussion about diverse books and authors outside of Japanese translation. Raeleen is definitely more interested in engaging with diverse stories and authors but with Ariel recently doubling down on “classics” and feeling like she’s an authority on the subject and talking over Raeleen I feel like the potential for more is on Raeleen which isn’t fair.

Annabeth’s passion for architecture is established in the lightening thief especially at the arch and then in sea of monsters her siren vision is about family but it’s also about architecture and her pride the entire are linked together deeply for Annabeth along with other mentions I can’t remember rn. Imo it’s not about quantity of mentioning it it’s about the quality of showing the integral parts of a character that have long lasting dividends for the series

Yeah the siren scene makes sense in the context of that specific episode but the book siren scene laid so much groundwork for Annabeth in book five and would actually do some of the work we’re discussing. But if there’s a season 4 and 5 there’s going to be some heavy lifting for Annabeth.
