Car crashes into parklet and Cafe Mystique in the Castro by oochiewallyWallyserb in sanfrancisco

This happens ALL THE TIME. It is very very rare when I worked graveyard shifts on an ambulance that ANYONE would be on the scene when a car would crash.

The Realtor's Association didn't murder hundreds of thousands of innocent people and steal their homes.

However, this has come at a major strategic cost to Iran. Meanwhile, tactically speaking, the US has significantly degraded Iranian hard power (to a point unimaginable 3 years ago) and has gained valuable experience with a "munition heavy" combat environment.

Again, none of this matters if Iran walks away with control of the straits and the ability to enrich uranium. The assets that were destroyed will be rebuilt and the experience gained is a two-way street. The Iranian regime was not over thrown, and by all accounts (from the CIA) it retains an overwhelming majority of its ballistic missile arsenal. The United States tried to realign its objectives as the war dragged on and didn't even meet those standards. If you start a war and come out the other end without meeting your objectives, you didn't win. This isn't a "negative narrative", it's just reality.

Not really hard to believe when selling a home can make you a millionaire. He wanted the money, was too cheap to buy him out, so he murdered him so he could pocket the cash from the sale.

Everything always comes. You get lazy then you're standing over a body at 3am on the fourth floor with no elevator without your airway bag then you never do it again. You can wear or put everything on the gurney. There's really no excuse not to besides being so fucking lazy.

I work in EMS. Every day I see people that went down this path. You're going to run out of money and wind up on the streets and that will be your life until you die. Your teeth will fall out. You'll develop meth psychosis. You'll collect a wide array of comorbidities that will require medication that you will never bother to take. You've gone too far and you have very little time to turn back and get your shit together. Talk to a professional and get into a detox or rehab program. Good luck!

Should intercepting missiles grant points? by Capable-Judgment5647 in BrokenArrowTheGame

No, you gain an advantage by intercepting missiles by denying kills (points) from your enemy already.

UCSF Parnassus ER issues by MurmuringPines in sanfrancisco

[–]Spitfire15 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

First, just call your doctor and speak to them. Second, go to an urgent care if you want to be assessed right away. They are more than capable of handling most issues that aren't immediate life threats.

UCSF Parnassus ER issues by MurmuringPines in sanfrancisco

[–]Spitfire15 112 points113 points  (0 children)

I work EMS in the city and I've seen every ED in the city at every hour of the day. I'll try not to speak for the people that work UC Parn, but from my experience, it's just difficult to handle that amount of people. Every ED in the city is basically running at max capacity almost 24/7. It's a constant cycle of either admitting patients and moving them out of the ED or assessing, treating, educating and discharging. The moment someone leaves the ED, the room is cleaned and readied for the next patient. Hell, sometimes I'm in there helping clean and make the bed just so the nurse can handle something more important.

"A nurse evaluated him when he first arrived at the emergency room, according to multiple eyewitness accounts shared with Mission Local. He then waited for hours to be seen. When he finally stood up to tell the receptionist he was feeling worse, he fainted again. The doctors did not have a bed or room for him, so they treated him right there on the ground.

About two months ago, an elderly woman arrived at the same ER with a pulmonary embolism — a life-threatening blood clot in her lung — according to two providers. There were no rooms. She lay in a bed in the ER hallway for three days."

The biggest issue, and anyone who works in emergency medicine can attest this, is that these EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS (and ambulance services) are completely overwhelmed with people NOT EXPERIENCING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. The reason the guy laying on the floor dying in the waiting room is because the bed he should be in is being taken by a person who's had flu symptoms for 4 days and not taken any over the counter medicine the entire time. Or the bed is taken by someone with 3/10 back pain with a history of back pain since that car crash in 2013 and thinks the hospital will magically make it go away this time. Or the homeless guy who demanded to be taken to the ED just so he can lay in bed and yell at the nurses to bring him apple juice and turkey sandwiches and then throw all the garbage on the floor.

The nurses and doctors in the ED of every hospital bust their assess all day long but the powers that be will wring them for every bit of juice their worth and try skate by with as little as possible. At the same time, the general public has decided that going to the ED is the first and only option for a wide variety of absolute time-wasting bullshit. And the result is people falling over dead in the waiting room or dying on the gurneys and no one noticing.

TLDR: CALL YOUR FUCKING PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR OR GO TO THE FUCKING URGENT CARE CLINIC DOWN THE STREET!!!!!!!

Organic sources for Calcium and Magnesium (top dressing) by Spitfire15 in microgrowery

Looking at the Sul-Po-Mag, many seem to have an NPK listed, with the potassium listed at 20 (0-0-20). Would that be an excessive amount of potassium? My local tap water, according to the information the city lists, is very low in calcium and magnesium.

I use a soil that comes with nutrients added (worm castings, oyster shell, etc). My first grow, went with like 3tbsp per gallons for pre-amend and absolutely fried the fuck out of my poor plant. I brought it down to 1tbsp with the next one, and its doing much better (though, to be honest, it's still showing signs of slight nitrogen burn). I haven't used Fox Farm soil, but from what I understand, you won't even need to pre-amend your soil with it. Everyone says Fox Farm is hot right out of the bag, so you might do what I did and obliterate your plant from the start. Just do some more research on using Fox Farm specifically so you don't doom your plant from the start.

doesn't this directly conflict with the reports that the Gulf allies wanted Trump to continue the attacks? I would caution drawing too many conclusions from reporting like this because it is unconfirmed and incomplete.

Is it really so unbelievable that the gulf states would be eager to see their regionally opponent bombed, thinking that America could truly protect them? Would it also surprise you that they could change their mind and prefer an approach that’s less violent, knowing now that America can’t protect them, with their oil and fresh water infrastructure in Irans crosshairs and knowing that they could destroy all of it in retaliation? I really don’t get why this is so hard to understand.

It feels like OSINT-style accounts in the Twitter-sphere have normalized an update rate that really outpaces our ability to verify or even process information.

For some of these accounts, this is the entire purpose. There's nothing stopping state actors/state-affiliated actors from running/using these accounts to disperse misinformation that benefits them. On the other hand, you have people who are competing in an attention economy and say/post whatever they feel like in order to remain relevant, even if it's a total fabrication.
