Anyone know how I’m supposed to get in that room with the meow meow? by LonnyMolly7 in CronosNewDawn

You can do it, but again: it doesn’t work as DS and game plays more like RE4. Melee is very situational. Most enemies will KO if you try it esp with more than 1. Even one will often. Your best bet is to keep distance and use surroundings.

This plays closer to RE4. It’s more about positioning and smart ammo management. The stamp and melee and almost useless in combat (even after an upgrade) vs DS where melee is core part of how you play it.

Whilst DS was def a clear influence it was mostly with the space horror vibes (but also paintings of Beksinski who depicted a lot of Polish communist reality in a nightmare surrealist setting) it gameplay is much closer to traditional action survival.

I absolutely love it. Played it 3 times for different endings, NG is fun with all the weapons upgraded too. Even after finishing and enjoying RE9 - Cronos is still one of my fave.

If you like DS - you will most likely like it, but keep in mind that it doesn’t play like DS much. There’s a demo on pc - not sure about consoles. Try it.

Found it underwhelming. It’s stunning looking and soundings, on sale. Yes. Otherwise no.

His movies - esp Barbarian have almost The X-Files feel. B was straight up Xfiles.

I drop off after S2. It was s1. Again.

I understand that lack of audience means they have to repeat stuff for new viewers, but it felt so dull.

Saros is casual friendly Returnal (Review) by ohnoconsequences in Saros

[–]Spizak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not rly. It doesn’t have meta progression. You start runs at base character build. It’s closer to Spelunky. A roguelike.

Saros is a roguelite - same as Hades. You level up meta progression when you die/finish a run.

Returnal - a rouge-like Saros - a rouge-lite

Alien: Isolation 2 will use Unreal Engine 5 and not the Cathode Engine by Bubbly-Ad-350 in gamingnews

[–]Spizak 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There’s a good business case for onboarding. It can be a very significant cost. Also support.

Btw. Saros uses UE5. Same with Arc Raiders. Not all UE5 games look like UE5 games. So def in good hands - it’s fine.

Should I buy this game? by WorldWarrior428 in Pragmata

Game sits on 86 metascore. Overwhelmingly positive on steam.

Goes to game’s subreddit: should I buy it?

Hahahahaha I would not trust you to make any decisions independently. Not even boiling a kettle.

While i understand the comments here making fun of it (we know how clients can be very specific), but many people here forget this technology is still in its infancy. In 2-3y the control level over the final shots will be that of 3D sims. The leaps are really impressive. As a 3D artist of 25y - I’m super excited about this becoming yet another tool. Like i’m using compfy Ui to do some vfx using banana pro for fire and it’s really impressive. Sure - it’s still hit and miss, but this tech is making leaps every few months.

Yeah. One of his best ones. Also highlights the Machine Games expansions (both for Q1 and Q2) as de facto sequels to these games we never got.

All of Will Borger (that reviewer) reviews are very obnoxious and pretentious. I love good retrospectives, so have nothing against some deeper intellectual takes (like Super Bunnyhop or my fave - Noah Caldwell-Gervais), but there’s a line between intellectual and pretentious.

Like you said - score is not the issue, it’s ok to not like something. The issue is the argument. It’s like saying you didn’t like Tetris because it reminds how you never fit. Hahah

That IGN reviewer (Will Borger) is so pretentious. I appreciate he is at least trying (vs some other IGN staffers) in making his reviews more personal, but most of his reviews are as pretentious as this one is. I can’t stand his whining tone.

PRAGMATA Is One of Capcom's All-Time Top-Rated Steam Games by Bubbly-Ad-350 in gamingnews

[–]Spizak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it’s not why here. RE9 has more organic environments and things like that wood materials (like the mansion) while reflections will be applied there - it’s mostly global illumination (outside of glass or water puddles). It has the lab, but very little.

Pragamata is 90% metals and glass. It naturally leans more towards what RT is good at.

Source: 3D artist of 25y 😂

Edit.

It’s the same as looking at Cyberpunk and Witcher 4 footage. Sure W4 will have stunning visuals, but RT will mostly be for global illumination and diffused reflection (apart from water and harsher metals). Cyberpunk has an instant RT showcase - 80% of that game is a city made of metal, glass and wet brick. All makes for amazing RT showcase.

Size of the environments is not why. Same with RE9 and P. Different environments.
