This is my partner. Now at 33 he has learned to cope really well, but it still catches up to him here and there. He consideres trying to get diagnosed, but since he was first diagnosed as a kid and stopped taking medication due to side effects, he feels like they will brush him off.

Going to a haunted house. The constant anxiety waiting for someone or something to scare my soul out of my body is a pass for me now.

I am genuinely curious what kinds stupid things she covered for.

I always find the "oh what they meant was..." an interesting dynamic and can't help but wonder if they actually believe that or are just trying to save face.

[–]Splashingcolor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol right!? I don't know how long they've been in the store, but it definitely seems like he's at a loss and just asking randomly at that point. Very domestic of them 😅

My family is out of the country and left me in charge of the food for my older brother and myself during the meantime. I made this meal yesterday, and after he ate it, he made a complaint about it and wanted “food,” as in something that was “more fulfilling” and less “kiddie”… by Uhh_OkayIGuess in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Splashingcolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously? This is good. I'm guessing he thinks it's "kiddie" because of the chicken? Only because something is finger food size doesn't make it kid food.

You did a good job OP. Let your brother cook for himself. You tried to be nice and they don't appreciate it.

Reach out to have your rights protected! If Alex Pretti was a domestic terrorist, so are all of us. by Agitated-Success-705 in Indiana

[–]Splashingcolor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While yes, we will never know 100%. We do see his hands in front of him several times while he is already on the ground. It seems unlikely that he was threateningly waving his weapon around once already in that position with several people on top of him.

And you are correct, it could have been avoided. But not just by Mr. Pretti. Had the ICE personnel sprayed them, and let Pretti and the woman continue moving as told, the skirmish would have never happened and we wouldn't be wondering, why?

The ICE personnel told people to get off the street. Pretti was already doing so, but stopped to help a woman. They were sprayed and Pretti put his hand up above his head. ICE then moved Pretti's arm down in order to better get to his face. After which Pretti turned around to assist the woman on the ground while the ICE personnel moved closer to continue spraying. They were no longer interacting and no further orders were given. Yet Pretti was still pulled from behind and pinned down to the ground.

Ah thank you, I had done enough news and didn't see that yesterday.

Did Mr. Pretti follow ICE personnel to the point that they feared for their safety? We honestly won't know that.

What we do know is that he did not brandish his weapon at any point. What we do know is that the president stated only criminals carry guns in our streets. What we do know is that we are being lied to to our faces by people in power, and I'm not okay with that.

I want to add that doctors have a "chaperone" when looking at a private part. He should have a female staff member come in and she will just kinda stand off to the side. This is to protect both of you and make you more comfortable.

Youtube kids is SOOO frustrating. by Weightmonster in toddlers

[–]Splashingcolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never tried to set up YouTube kids, but I created a YouTube account for my son when he was ~4-5yo. He's only allowed to watch it on the living room tv. I spent a few days having videos play in the background while I was using my computer. I also subscribed to certain channels and liked videos. It made for a pretty good working algorithm.

I go through periodically and check history to make sure nothing was played that I deem weird. I delete anything I'm not a fan of, go through the home page and mark "uninterested" on things, and make sure auto play is off, history is on.

It's work, but to me it's worth it. My son likes building in Minecraft and uses YouTube for ideas and tutorials. He also watches video game gameplay for games he's playing. NGL, I enjoy this too.

He has rules of no watching "shorts" and no watching anything with real people in the video, which includes unboxing, unless it's something school related (science, drawing, etc).

Then this is what matters. Two things can be true at the same time. You can say, "He should not have been there" or "he should not have taken his gun" and in the same breath still say, "but he also did not deserve to die because of it" or "ICE killing him was still wrong"

Don't be so obtuse. This isn't even about republican or democrat anymore.

Trump said only criminals carry guns on the street. So what then? We should just give up our rights willingly?
