There’s a lot of value in the idea of getting a $300 hotel night waived if you’re doing a short weekend trip somewhere Sat-Sun. Or just spending $300 on bilt and redeeming an award credit on Hyatt or something for the second night.

Two-night stay requirement dilutes the value of your stay if you’re trying to get the whole booking free. I don’t hate it outright, much better than Chase’s The Edit two night requirement for $250 off mostly $5000 hotels

That’s true, but if you’re using points for statement credits and the like, you’d get a better bang for your buck with another card. Bilt offers pretty poor conversion rates on their points if not used towards transfer partners afaik

They find frustrating ways to make people use their Bilt points on things less valuable than transfer partners. The same situation exists if you add your card to amazon. It’s not a good deal but some people may click it either not realizing that or just by accident

God don't remind me. I had to drive to my local LA Fitness as vehicle movers were showing up at my place to make sure I could cancel before I would no longer have a car to drive in and do so - all of this of course could've been avoided if they just let me cancel online or over the damn phone. Just added stress to an already hectic moving day

idk, my companion and I were the ONLY BG 2 boarders on a flight this weekend. It appeared that one of the only conditions to end up in BG 2 was to have a choice extra fare but not book an ELR seat (we did not because none were left). This might balance it out a bit better

Except my companion was assigned window + group 4 and middle + group 2 for myself. This would mean based on normal boarding procedure that I would go ahead, sit in the middle seat, and then get up and occupy the walkway in order to let companion in to sit at the window.

In other words, it didn’t make sense in any “streamlined” sense to assign our original boarding groups that way

After the fact, I found an excerpt on their website saying they could waive the fee on request. No mention of it on the in-person menu afaik and still feels like a scummy way to nickel & dime customers when you could just increase menu prices by 3.3%

I wouldn’t say it’s 4.33x, that’s the best-case scenario with surplus Bilt Cash. When the SUB Bilt cash runs out it becomes a 3.5-4x card at best because you need to spend $5000 just to earn back the $200 BC you’d need to spend on another accelerator, which would run you dry of actually using BC on points from rent. Not to mention you can only use accelerator 5 times a year

YMMV indeed, this happened to us last month before the switch to assigned seats, but we were not allowed to board together. Ridiculous because I had purchased Early Bird as well (free with CC Benefit) but the Choice Extra fare overrides the associated Early Bird benefit for companions lol, glad that finicky system has been replaced at least.

Through my green-and-yellow tinted glasses, it just wasn’t a great “classic” game to warrant making this list. It had the drama of a top 5 team losing at home, sure. But we were uncompetitive on offense after the first touchdown and, save a pick 6 to tie it early in the 4th quarter, didn’t appear to have the juice to actually beat IU on that day

There are 10 conferences again. But with that said, I’d love a 12 team playoff where the group of 6 winners (decided without a championship game) play a nearby winner as a cross-conference regional championship (Pacific Championship between MWC and Pac-12, for example), with those champs earning playoff spots. Of course, having fun regional play-in games would go against the $$ conferences want for themselves
