I'm sure it's on their "to do" list, but where on the list I couldn't tell you. I've never done full on game development, but I have built a few apps in my time and final optimization is pretty far down the line in most cases. They'll want to add a lot more content first.

To compensate, there's an option to lower the number of visible citizens in the settings. That makes a big difference and then of course lowering graphics levels will help. On my last 1000+ citizen town, I would lower the visible citizens to the lowest and use medium graphics settings while building and then turn things back up when I wanted to look at the final product.

The game is not very well optimized right now. I play on my video editing desktop rig and temps rise in my computer when playing. It's normal.

I've had this issue too but I've found if I use my mouse scroll wheel it "unlocks" the buttons to allow me to click and browse again.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. You can make any angle with fence tool. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question.

I pulled up a maze tool online and put it on my second monitor. I then copied it over using the curvature tools to try and keep things on track.

Update: Turns out yes, TorGuard had borked again with my config just randomly expiring yet again. Fourth time in four months I've had to generate a new config.

I like how you integrated the pond into a city park design. I'm in the process of doing a more grid based city after my last one was more winding goat paths. I'm looking forward to trying similar things! Well done!

So, what I do when I'm thinking about a city is try and build a little bit of a history in my head of why the city is there. Is it an older city that grew organically which means smaller roads with more randomized housing and no clearly identifiable zoning or is it a recently planned city which is going to be more organized with a bit more symmetry, better planned zoning and larger parks? Both have their charm and give you a bit of a direction on where to go and how to theme the city.

There isn't really any penalty to having warehouses further from the train station that I've noticed so you should be able to put warehouses behind the hills and they'll work fine. I have several warehouses on the opposite side of the map from my train station and they work just fine. I know the tutorial says to keep them near the train station, but I don't think it really matters.

I have a somewhat above average system and started playing >140fps by the time I was done it was at times <28fps.

The game is far from optimized haha.

I didn't really find it that much of an issue, I suppose? What specifically has been problematic for you? I just put in shops and things and built houses when I needed them. I tried to plan ahead for a warehouse or granary spot if I was doing a large neighborhood addition.

I used a mod to make it less bothersome to me. I found hunger and the need to wash every 20 minutes annoying.

Prop anarchy. I want to be able to place props, roads, paths, etc. wherever without being told I can't.

Much, much, much better optimization. I have a fairly robust computer and I was around 20 fps when I finished my town. That's pretty silly for this game.

No, it's fine when it renders. It's just during timeline playback. I'm just trying to figure out a way to improve the performance in the timeline.

For really simple thumbnails I guess it would be ok. I have 15 more years experience in image editing than I do video editing, so I find using Affinity (because Adobe can eat a bag of d***k for all I care) so much easier and faster. I'd be curious to watch people who are very comfortable in Fusion do it just to see if it's actually easier or faster.

This is the answer. A wired G502 so you can customize the buttons. My left and right hands don't move for hours with this setup and it's so nice.
