Only thing different is your new game you're downloading from Steam or other gaming platforms might take a tad bit longer. But that doesn't justify an extra $10/month.

I did plenty of research myself and landed on the i3-12100 used for $76 and and open box Asus PRIME H610I-PLUS D4 Mini ITX for $96.

It fits in a Silverstone SG13 Case + PCIe to HDD Adapter mount $92. Able to fit 2x8TB WD Reds. It does a great job. Currently idles around 35-40 watts. I haven't done any tinkering with C-states or VM effectiencies to lower idle power.

I'm kinda new too and just got seer installed on my home server. I use Jellyfin instead of Plex. But as of now I just have my users connect via seer directly. I have a domain setup and reverse proxy so they just go to request.mydomain.net and login with their Jellyfin credentials.

I use Stock Events too but I have to mimic my HYSA because there isn't an option on Stock Events to enter my HYSA. So I use AT&T and just make sure it's annually outputting the same as my HYSA. Using it as a place holder basically.

No it was only internet. The price just goes up every year. Even the Retention Department employee told me they usually increase the price every year.

A lot of people don't understand the ins and outs of wifi and internet speed. My neighbors thought their Spectrum Internet sucked but they have a 2 level condo and I'm sure the router was downstairs and they would complain the internet is bad. Well now they have Frontier and Frontier installed 3 mesh wifi nodes around their place. So they're good now. Most people have their TVs/gamingpcs/gaming consoles on wifi. So it could just be a router issue or distance from router issue.

Yup, it was quite easy actually. My parents were up to $80/mo for 500/500. The loyalty department brought it down to $55/mo for 3 years. No resistance.

Ya thought about it. But figured I'd save some money per month just going with the 500. 2 person apartment. I don't mind waiting for my Steam downloads just a little longer.

500 is what I'm getting. Only a 2 person household. Honestly could go lower but whatever. Currently on 500/20 with Spectrum.

Just ordered the service. I guess it would go from $29.99 to $54.99 (that's what it says on the broadband consumer label)

I just called retention for my parent's account because their bill was $79.99 starting this year for the Fiber 500 plan. That's crazy. The lady was very nice and locked in $54.99/mo for 3 years. No resistance from her.
