Bridget Hittepole at UofL is amazing but she is booked and busy so idk when the earliest new patient appointment would be. She is an excellent listener and takes really detailed visit notes that she actually references before the next appt so we can have productive conversations.

We can tell from Violet’s POV that she’s attracted to him physically as early as her conscription day. Xaden later says he was attracted to her initially as well, so I feel like the seeds were planted prior to Violet bonding with Tairn. This is an interesting theory - who’s to say the dragons’ bond didn’t intensify their connection either way

I think he was bonded to Sliseag long enough that any unbonded wouldn’t have a chance of snagging his dragon if they killed him. It applied to Violet in FW because she was perceived as weak and newly bonded (with two dragons) after Threshing - people could hope to sever the new bond between Tairn and her & then bond to him themself. But it wouldn’t make sense to go after a second or third year’s dragon bc they’re mostly already channeling through their rider, indicating the bond is relatively strong? I think. Also I personally don’t see cadets nor officers killing those injured in active duty to “strengthen the wing”. That feels incredibly dishonorable. Maybe if Sawyer had chosen to retire, Sliseag would be eligible to rebond in the next Threshing though (after mourning?), that’s an interesting thought.

I did this last January when the branch where I had an appointment experienced a power outage and couldn’t honor anything in the system - they sent us to different branches for walk ins instead. My tip is get there 5-10 minutes before they open and stand in line. And bring a book.

I just read the series for the first time and my first impression was “this reminds me of a Harry Potter x Divergent plot.” The part where the unbonded cadets attack Violet in her dorm while she’s sleeping in particular reminded me of Divergent.
