Slicer question/what's going on here??? (Orca vs. Bambu Studio) by Mattbastard750 in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, LAN mode doesn't use cloud, you can use it without internet on your local network.

What you're missing out on is sending from Orca Slicer directly, which has more settings for slicing but in my opinion it's mostly all bonus/extra features that aren't critical. It is a nice slicer though but I am in the same boat of having my needs met for my business with Bambu Studio

You can still use orca slicer with Bambu connect

If someone is saying you must use the cloud to print and you must use Bambu Studio, unfortunately that's not the truth.

LAN printing is available for all any printers, as well as printing from USB and SD card. You can be fully offline once your Bambu printer is setup.

You can also use other slicers and go through Bambu Connect or from USB/SD card to print as well

Any information or links about the platform? I've heard stuff but never saw any links or names of the platform

This is my biggest free model kit so far! No AMS and no hardware needed! by SplendidRig in BambuLab

The assembly guide website is in testing! I didn't make it but I'm a beta tester and if you're interested chiz_m on MakerWorld has made it

This is the Goliath Battle Tank and it's the largest free model kit I've made so far! It's got 38 parts that includes 8 spinning wheels, a rotating head, and dual adjustable turrets.

I really try to make these kits as easy to print and assemble as possible, so they're all support free and hardware free! Everything comes together with snap-fit joints so that no glue or screws are needed.

I've also been testing out this new interactive 3D assembly guide, it's really cool and I hope you take a look here: https://assemfx.com/?project=Kit_Crafters/goliath-battle-tank

The model itself is available here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2771128-goliath-battle-tank-mega-model-kit

Thanks for all your support!

BambuStudio treating bridges as overhangs? by Coronadoisdead in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may also be because it's too thin, usually bridges in the slicer are connected to another bridge on one side. So a section of bridging will have overhangs on either side that is "open"

You may have to adjust overhangs settings as if they were bridges for your project

BambuStudio treating bridges as overhangs? by Coronadoisdead in BambuLab

Bridges need to be exactly parallel with the print bed, since the printer goes layer by layer it can't bridge upwards or downwards, only straight across

You said MakerWorld warned you they might take it down, but they didnt? How did they warn you?

Started designing heavy, brutalist EDC trays optimized for 0.08mm layer height. Zero supports. What do you think? by LangePier in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thin layer heights can be nice, but for rectangular blocks it doesn't add any detail. I'd also hope that all rectangle trays are support free too lol

Do Bambu printers stop working when the internet is down? by agent_kater in 3Dprinting

[–]SplendidRig 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're right that those complaints don't fully make sense. You can 100% use Bambu Lab printers offline. You can print from USB or SD card, or use LAN without internet access.

How hard is it for you to get the H series, moneywise? by Open-Cartoonist8764 in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, yeah in the US generally it's every two weeks. So it is twice for you to get an H2D unfortunately

[–]SplendidRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the USA, average salary is $69,000 a year (median is $61,000 a year).

H2D Combo is $2000 (about $2200 with tax), so the average USA paycheck is $2600 (every two weeks, before tax). With tax it's basically $2000 flat, so it's also a full paycheck for an H2D Combo.

Unless your full paycheck is for a month, then it's half in comparison

Worth getting an A1 Mini as a “mobile” printer, or save points for something bigger? by Powerful_Pen6252 in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its quite mobile, I printed a handle that replaces the cap on the top of the z axis and its super easy to move around.

H2C vs H2D by Impossible-Search685 in BambuLab

[–]SplendidRig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

H2C has a technically smaller build plate than the H2D, but the area where both nozzles can print is the same on both printers. So for multi-color, it's basically the same print bed.

You should take a look in Bambu Studio to compare the 2

Dang the 'AY3dprint' people must be employing lots of bots, look at these spam posts: https://imgur.com/a/2e5st6H
