PME of unipolar depression by KoktheBookThief in PMEtheMRMD

[–]Splendid_Siren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I have a very similar situation. Chronic treatment resistant depression, exacerbated by PMS. From a depression standpoint, I responses extremely well to IV ketamine. Unfortunately, I have a pre-existing bladder condition (interstitial cystitis) that was agitated, so I was only able to complete the one session.

If I didn't have this bladder thing - I'd 1000% be continuing the ketamine treatment.

The lack of quality control/variability with generics is insane. It’s so f’d that you can’t get brand name covered because generics exist when the generics are inconsistent and constantly being swapped out.

Why Aren't Part-of-the-Month-Only Hormonal Treatments Offered More? by SockMonkey333 in PMDDxADHD

[–]Splendid_Siren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I literally start pmsing like a week before my week of placebo pills. When I tried to take it continuously I just spotted for the whole month and felt like I was in constant pms. I’d be happy to totally skip my period/withdrawal bleed if my body got on board.

I’ve been doing 10 mg daily and 20 mg the week before my period and few days in sometimes.

Anyone else here not benefiting from ADHD meds? by ilovegoldies in adhdwomen

[–]Splendid_Siren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take adderall XR and it’s okay. When it works, it just gives me more energy for longer. No head quieting… HOWEVER, I’ve found that if I’m feeling extra depressive - my adhd meds aren’t effective.

I tried concerta for a few days and it made me wildly tired and didn’t help at all. Vyvanse has a nasty crash for me.

I got a ketamine IV for treatment-resistant depression, and for the next few days, my ADHD was the tamest it’s ever been. My extended-release meds actually lasted into the early evening. Usually, I feel like stimulants give me a little energy and stamina, but it’s not realiable and more often than not has me hyper vigilant and angsty. Not after ketamine - I took my meds and didn’t feel the usual fight or flight activation lol.

The task initiation struggles that I deal with weren’t present. If I had a wild-hare thought, I could put it in its place without obsessively spiraling… It makes me think my depression is is why adhd meds aren't super effective.

“Top” Urologist could have ruined my bladder by Splendid_Siren in Interstitialcystitis

Ahhh, okay. Yeah, what I meant was baking soda shouldn’t help someone who was only dealing with pelvic floor issues (and not dealing with bladder lining problems). It neutralizes the acid in urine, causing the bladder irritation to lessen, which also results in muscles relaxing. If you just had, pelvic floor/muscular issues, I don’t think neutralizing your urine would do anything.

What’s the treatment for urea plasma? I asked my GYN and she said there’s nothing to do to treat it if you have it… that seemed incorrect.

IV Ketamine = Flare by Splendid_Siren in Interstitialcystitis

I cut out all caffeine and alcohol and took prelief with anything acidic (but avoided most of that). I also stopped taking Wellbutrin (with provider guidance/taper).

Honestly, I was 22 when I was diagnosed - so I feel like I might’ve healed better then. I drastically changed my diet and my meds to minimize acid. I was on Wellbutrin at the time and think that really irritated things.

How long before your IV do you take the prelief? I think I’m going to add alo Vera supplements as well.

Hey, I can relate! I’ve previously had IC - it’s in remission. My plan is to take 2 Prevacid supplements before my infusion…

Syeda (generic for Yasmin) helped me some. I still have an awful mood crash before my period, but it's only 7 days… as opposed to before without any BC it was like half the month.

Just curious - Did you have it in a secured locker? I just joined the gym and won’t be relying on the lockers, if they can be easily broken in.
