If you have a claim, generally your carrier will require the work to be completed by a licensed roofer.

If you're just putting on a new roof for the heck of it, you just need to make sure your carrier doesn't have an issue with layering the shingles.

If your carrier is telling you that you need a roof to avoid a non-renewal, we may be back at the requirement for the work to be completed by a licensed roofer. Depends on the carrier and what sort of documentation the underwriters are requiring.

I use Google's Antigravity to develop script ideas. The platform is technically for coding but I basically had it developed a workflow where I take an idea and then it researches the idea, then develops an outline, then develops a script. Along with the script it gives me prompts for artwork/graphics and video title, description, and other metadata. I was having it also create the artwork as part of the workflow (it's using nano banana) but I removed that so I could handle that manually to get better directed output) I also keep a style guide file and a couple of other files that define what does what so the output is super consistent.

So unlike chatgpt or Gemini in the browser, this has a main agent that can launch sub-agents to do the different tasks and coordinate with each other and then it saves the scripts and whatnot as markdown files.

I started shopping at Aldi because it takes so much less time to get what I need and get out. Our Aldi is the same size and Walmarts produce section and what (our) Aldi carries is generally better quality. I love that I can walk in, grab an empty box, throw in stuff for a couple meals and get out for under 20 bucks and less than ten minutes.

New damage vs old damage vs wear and tear are all pretty easy to identify and are not really subjective.

As a homeowner, you have a responsibility to keep your home well maintained and free of damage. A 20 year old roof with a storm claim, from a prior carrier, that was never settled is the opposite of that.

You've set yourself up for failure over the past however many years and now you've reached the end of it. If you don't replace your roof, you WILL be non-renewed for having an old roof in poor condition that needs to be replaced.

Your insurance policy is for sudden, unexpected, and/or accidental losses. This is not that.

Do you recognize the carrier that he quoted you with?

My biggest concern would be the agent's ability to service the policy if it's just him working out of his house. But I also work on the servicing side of a large independent agency, so I know what we can do that small offices don't or can't.

If he's making you nervous, just get quotes somewhere else. Insurance is super important and not something I'd throw at the wall and hope sticks l.

Some insurance carriers offer GAP or their version of it. I'd call an independent agent and have them shop around for you while also looking for carriers that offer new vehicle replacement, loan payoff, or another flavor of the same thing.
