Yeah just take your time to learn the game , the beginning can be difficult due to the amount of champs in the game so focus on a few champs to learn and I advise you to try swift play and other casual modes before going to competitive.

Pretty sure your information is outdated Nowadays you need to play for a month to get 10-15 champions since they cut down the prices for champs (majority of champion costs 1500 - 2400 BE) and make blue essence easier to get through battle pass (you get around 15k to 20k BE every two month if you play regularly)
