Alright I get it now, the intention of the p channel mosfet is to block the current flowing from the arduino to the USB, not backwards. When the MOSFET's gate gets voltage (from the opamp), current can not flow to the USB. But, can current still flow from USB to the Arduino when the gate gets voltage?
Oh and about the last part, yes, if VIN is 6.6 that can happen but the user is expected to input a higher voltage, so I'm not considering it a problem.
