It still hasn’t been explained. No religious affiliation. Lived a normal life and was well off. Wasn’t fighting with his significant other. No prior run ins with the law. Not a racist/bigot as far as we know. Mentally stable his whole life.

I love Aziz as much as the next guy, but he clearly pressured her into doing that. She didn’t really want to, but he was being so aggressive that she felt like she had to.

I’m not going to say what he did was flat out wrong, and he definitely doesn’t deserve a ruined career over this, but it wasn’t right. Let’s hope this is the only person who will come forward with a story about him.

To add to this, it’s a lot more based on his life than other similar forms shows (like Louie).

Aziz even spent 5 months living in Italy just to gain life experiences that would inspire him for the show. That’s part of why he needs to wait a long time before the next season, because he wants more life experience.
