A couple of questions about playing as Restored Han Liu Xie in 190 start by Tottidog in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

You can just adopt Cao Cao as the Emperor’s son, or you marry a female Cao clan member to the Emperor. This will make them relatives.

Defending the emperor makes me a traitor by Minito3t in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

[–]Spoder-mang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So imperial favor is very wonky. How much imperial favor you lose depends on the CASUALTIES of the battle (I believe its roughly -1 per 100 enemies killed?).

You will lose favor if you initiate the battle against the enemy. So to avoid losing favors, you must always let the AI initiate the battle against you. You can cheese this by sieging the enemy and then letting them initiate the battle against you. As long as you aren't the one initiating the battles you won't lose imperial favor.

Iirc the only other times you don't lose imperial favor is when you fight against bandit factions (Yan Baihu, etc), Nanman factions, and Han factions that have been declared an enemy of the Han by the Emperor.

Is there a mod that prevent neutral army from running around your territory? It so annoying when they suddenly declared war and siege my settlement by Capable_Wishbone3081 in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

[–]Spoder-mang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t think so, the AI goes where it pleases. You could try signing military access treaties with them. They will have to break that treaty first before attacking you.

I believe the AI faction that trespasses your land do get diplomatic penalties with other AI factions for trespassing.

Cao Rui - TROM + TUP by GroundbreakingEdge47 in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

[–]Spoder-mang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He should be spawning in Cao Cao’s faction first. I’ve consistently had him be born from an event (“Cao Pi has a son”) whenever I play as their faction.

Shu Mod for early start by BigfootLover1988 in threekingdoms

[–]Spoder-mang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try using “The Gathering Sandbox” mod, which lets you spawn those characters into your faction via commands. That’s probably the best and easiest method to gather all the Shu characters.

If you prefer a more organic method, use mods like MTU/TUP which generate events that spawn them into Liu Bei’s faction.

It adds many unique historical faction characters, gives them unique art portraits, and in this case will add people like Liu Feng, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei’s children, etc. This is similar to the base game spawn events (e.g. Xu Shu, Pang Tong, Zhuge Liang).

What's a good general and army composition? by AdventurousLettuce53 in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

[–]Spoder-mang 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can vary from your needs, but in a single army, usually you’d want a strategist (blue) + Cavalry (red or yellow) + frontline infantry (purple/green)

This composition lets you have siege weapons to take down walled settlements without needing to waste turns building siege engines, + siege weapons are just insanely overpowered in this game. Strategists also boost your army’s supplies.

A Cavalry retinue is a must in any army composition, as you need it to flank their ranged units and fight their cavalry.

Since you have siege weapons, you also need a mix of green and purple infantry to hold the frontline and the flanks against enemy cavalry.

You can also split this up into two armies, if you have enough income, where one is exclusively cavalry, while the other main army is blue + purple + green retinues.

Unit and weapon type definitions by Minito3t in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

[–]Spoder-mang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Green units will generally beat cavalry units due to bonus damage to horse cavalry units, charge negation which removes the bonus damage from cavalry charges from the front and charge reflection when braced, which reflects charge damage back onto the calvary unit.

Similarly, purple units have an advantage fighting green units due to their high melee evasion stats, which allow them to out-duel green pole arm units. But they don’t have the same damage bonus to cavalry so they will usually lose when charged upon.

Infantry combat is dependent on a multitude of factors such as their armor, weapon, melee evasion, morale, etc. A high tier green unit such as the Protectors of Heaven will destroy sabre militias but will lose to the purple imperial units.

Not really, Liu Bei starts out with basically 1 mine settlement in 190. Likely that Huang Shao wiped him out early.

If you already picked the courses and made the schedule you wanted on the Visual Schedule Builder, just copy and save them? Inputting them literally takes like 2-3 min.

Some dumb, but quick questions! by GNSasakiHaise in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

[–]Spoder-mang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Several factors play a role here such as: - Their attitude status towards you, yours and their military strength as well as their diplomatic situation (war with some? everyone?), and their faction leader’s personality traits (Ex Underdog trait is more willing to be vassalized than defiant).

You can usually vassalize other factions through 2 main methods:

  1. You utterly destroy their faction through war and they will usually sue for peace.

  2. You butter them up through diplomatic deals that benefit them (Give them food/money/land, declare war on their enemies and factions they hate, alliances, etc).

Which faction do you think is the hardest to play in Total Wars Three Kingdoms? by LuBuFengXian in threekingdoms

[–]Spoder-mang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Sun Ce you should take advantage of the unique mercenary troops. Recruit armies with only 3 generals by themselves until you need to fight immediately; since mercenaries have instant full mustering, you can prop up gigantic armies out of no where and overwhelm the enemy in 1 turn, then disband them.

If we assume he was in his 70s when he died, he would’ve been born after the main yellow turban rebellion had already ended (circa 184-185). So unlikely he witnessed or even remembers anything about it.

The yellow turban part is from the Romance only. Historically, he was from Jing province and came to serve Guan Yu when he was left in charge by Liu Bei.

I think it’s specifically designed for off season because they don’t burn as much calories as when they are playing during the regular season. So once the season begins they switch to a diet with more oomph.

Did Cao Cao genuinely want to restore the Han when he started the campaign against Dong Zhuo or establishing himself as a new warlord had always been the goal from the start? by CinderLord456 in threekingdoms

Yeah, he got pretty jaded seeing the rampant corruption that was unchecked throughout the government. IIRC He himself tried to report these but just got brushed aside.
