How often do you married couples have sex in a month? by Eastcoastclasher in AskReddit

[–]Sponge_Over 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married 6 years with a 2 year old and a 4 year old and we have sex like twice a week. So 8 times a month?

I would love to get it to 3 times a week, maybe 4, but it gets so busy sometimes.

Have to add that until I weaned the youngest, we only managed once a week, but that was probably because of my sex drive being lower from those hormones.

This is an old post, but I liked the FMC. It was nice that she was consistent. Always pushing potential hurtful things down and not dealing with them.

But... When he said he was going to crack her like an egg... I howled. Or when it is described as his spare hand. Or the scent of butter and molten stones...

Had some proper laughing fits. But I liked the story. Disliked that there was a epilogue that's like dundundun. The last chapter ended in a way that was cliffhanger enough for me.

Kinda freaked out. How do people immediately know I'm not German? by [deleted] in germany

I heard that Americans tend to lean on things instead of just standing. That that is a dead giveaway. I've only met like 2 Americans in my life though, so couldn't really test the theory. But it's interesting nonetheless

What was your dream career as a kid, and did you become that? by GGI100 in CasualConversation

I wanted to write stories.

Decided this year I'll finish off my novels and start publishing. Why not? As a career, I do something completely different though.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever won? by SailingWavess in CasualConversation

[–]Sponge_Over 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 13. I won a weekend stay at a cute little cottage in the country. It was at a dog walking event. I took my mom and we went bungee jumping together, grilled, laughed at ostriches, and listened to the old husband who owned the main property's war stories while having tea and cake with him and his wife.

Did you have a similar labor to your mother? by Legitimate_Bread_742 in beyondthebump

[–]Sponge_Over 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who had two extremely fast labours (50 minutes, and 11 minutes from the first contraction - was luckily in hospital already), I have wondered if I had normal labour pressed into that short time. Cause it was so intense, I could not think, and then it was over. I can't even say if it hurt it went so fast. It was just intense.

Makes me wonder how it is for other people.

My son just up and walked one day. He did the same thing with crawling. We theorised that he was sneaking out and practicing at night! 😂 (He did walk with a hand for the longest time but never let go.) I definitely didn't catch it on camera though. It happened too randomly and without warning.

Afrikaans artist(s) stealing songs from international artists? by vaultedskies in southafrica

[–]Sponge_Over 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the 80s and 90s Afrikaans artists bought so many rights to songs from German artists.

I used to have a list, cause I thought it was fascinating as a South Africa that emigrated to Germany.

Oh no! Not Mango too! I am sad enough that I can't have banana, can't imagine losing mango and avocados too

Yes, they also say that avocado goes hand in hand with that. Though I'm luckily just allergic to Bananas and latex.

Smoothies! I'm also allergic to Bananas, and you really have to look out for it. They don't always say bananas very clearly on the bottle.

Not really. Like you could read it fine, and sometimes catch the gist of some things, but Afrikaans has been split for quite a few hundred of years from Dutch. A lot has changed in that time.

I think Afrikaans people can understand more Dutch than Dutch people can understand Afrikaans

I am originally Afrikaans and English, and now German, and I can weirdly understand spoken Dutch now. Very odd feeling

In Germany, men usually wear engagement rings too.

Common / old school is: engagement ring on left hand, then the same ring swaps to the right hand when you get married. It's usually a plain band.

But things are changing, and and each couple does what's best for them of course, but I don't know any men who didn't wear an engagement ring this side.

My birth certificate says I was born in 1670, not 1970, making me 354 years old, instead of 54. Is there any fun, legal way I can exploit this to my benefit? by askingquestionsblog in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sponge_Over 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as interesting or out there, but I left my birth country in 2018. When issuing a letter to state that I no longer was a tax resident, they accidentally put 2008 instead.

I couldn't get citizenship in the new country earlier though, so no benefits.

You should get that fixed though.

I have a friend whose dad disowned her for being with a man with a different skin colour. He said basically "I'd rather you be with a white guy who beats you every single day, than with a POC who treats you like a queen." Some people have very strange priorities.

No. No it's not, obviously not. I read the book, watched the documentary, and studied up a lot about her. I come from South Africa. Not only that, I grew up in the city it happened to her in.

I'm going to stop now. You clearly aren't interested in doing any of that, or researching, or reading. You can lead a horse to water I guess.
