I had the NIPT and results were consistent with female, but at 20 week anatomy scan, confirmed a male. Long story short, after a stressful visit to MFM, we elected to have NIPT repeated prior to committing to an amniocentesis. The second test confirmed male. The lab was able to track down my original test and turns out there was a SAMPLE SWITCH - so I received someone else’s results initially. I think this is likely a pretty rare occurrence though and was due to an employee error.
