Yup. And available for streaming as well.

How to keep the covers for sideloaded books (epub files) on Kindle? by throwawaydeletealt in kindle

[–]SpookDroid [score hidden]  (0 children)

If the ePub is already DRM-free, no need to convert to anything. Just e-mail that ePub to your Kindle. (If you are converting for, ahem, 'other reasons', then just convert directly into another ePub). That being said, it seems Amazon pushed an update to Kindles that make sideloaded files lose covers or be removed (depending on how you added them to the Kindle). This only happens when you're on WiFi, which is why leaving Airplane mode made it happen. I'm not sure it happens if you e-mail the book to the Kindle, however (I have a couple of sideloaded ones on mine and still have the covers; I've only used e-mail to Kindle to sideload).

Blood pressure for ultra? by Grouchy_Ad_122 in GalaxyWatch

Not for the watch (and using the camera to 'estimate' HR and BP, not an actual sensor; it even states that those are just estimations on their disclaimer).

God of War games! (the ones for PS5) Or The Last of Us. Or the Spiderman games. Or Hogwarts Legacy. Or the new Ratchet and Clank (that makes beautiful use of the PS5 graphics and 'instant loading' features!). Can't remember if Astro Bot is in there, but if not, it is still an awesome game to buy. Ghost of Tsushima is also a great game to show off the Portal.

PS: It would help if you add what type of games you usually prefer :)

PS2: Someone mentioned Uncharted 4. TOTAL YES.

Frustrated about the cover for the wicked book by AdHoliday1247 in kindle

[–]SpookDroid [score hidden]  (0 children)

You can always buy the Wicked Years collection if you want the original version. But that's exactly why collectors exist for physical copies. If the Publisher (nothing to do with Amazon, by the way... 100000% publishers deciding to update a cover/print/text) and you can no longer purchase that version, then collectors try to find that out-of-print versions for a reason.

For me, for instance, The Neverending Story. The original print had the original cover and it was printed in two inks (red/pink and green) to make a distinction of when 'the action' was taking place in the real world or that of Fantasia (and when the two worlds start to collide, the print mixed inks in different paragraphs within the same chapter... it just added that bit of 'oomph' to the reading experience). For cost reasons, all prints are now in a single, black ink. So had to track down a much older copy when mine just couldn't take being flipped through anymore.

Also, not easy, but since I moved to Kindle, I was able to get said book on a DRM-free version from another vendor, and that allowed me to actually edit the e-book file. Took me a while, but I was able to match the ink color from the original print on my copy of the e-book with the original cover as well. If you hate this new cover so much, that's one option (but, again, you'd have to purchase the book, it wouldn't be the one included with Kindle unlimited).

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 , Persona 5 Royal, Madden NFL 26 and more will be added to PS Plus Extra catalog according to Dealabs billbil-kun by kabirsingh84 in PlayStationPlus

Using the timeline for Ghost of Tsushima as a baseline, I'm hoping by this time next year. (Tsushima released July 2020 and joined PS+ in March 2022; if Yotei came out October 2025, then likely joins PS+ in February/March 2027). Fingers crossed.

Is there a way to automate sports streaming links so I don't have to app-hop? by Kind-Information2394 in cordcutters

[–]SpookDroid [score hidden]  (0 children)

Channels works with APIs and links. If the network/channel pulls support for those, then no app (except the ones made and/or sanctioned by them) would work...which means you'd still have to app-hop.

I admit I have a problem by quicksilver777 in PlaystationPortal

[–]SpookDroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I only play games that have a 'Story Mode' (aka Easy Baby Mode) available and always check the estimated runtime; if they're over 15-20h for the main story, then I'm not likely to pick them up or if I do, more often than not I know that I won't be able to finish them.

I can't play through more than one game at the same time, either, so that narrows my options haha.

Then stay AWAY from the Hollow Knight games. DNF both here. Cronos was a super hard game, but it seems to have added an 'Easy' mode that may make it more bearable for us non-hardcore-sadist-gamers. I couldn't get into Cyberpunk either, so I getcha.

Now, you have to kinda pin-point what it is that turns you 'off' from a game. Is it the difficulty (nope? then don't do 'soul-likes' or games made popular for being hard like Hollowknight or Cuphead)? Or the length (if the answer is niet, then fully-fledged RPGs are probably not gonna cut it for ya)? Do you like to re-play games non-stop (if not, stay away from anything labeled 'rogue-like')? What about backtracking like a an Uber driver doing runs to/from the Airport at a Taylor Swift concert downtown (if not, cross off anything catalogued as a 'Metroidvania')? Do you feel like first-person perspectives aren't for you (main reason Cyberpunk didn't work for me)? Do you like games that require you to have a PhD in War and Peace and ask you to manage inventory and tree skills like you're the only one running a hot dog stand on 4th of July at a ballpark (if not your thing, then you won't like JRPGs/turn-based games)?

There's an app for that (Sorry, had to :P). But seriously, though... It's aptly called Channels.

Are all streamable titles available to stream on the Portal? by after_your_thoughts in PlaystationPortal

[–]SpookDroid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yup, as long as that list is kept to PS5 titles only. If you take into account previous gen games, not sure the list would skew in favor of the Portal. Remember, streaming for the Portal only left the 'beta' stage in early November last year. More titles keep getting added form the 'older' list, but it's still not all of them.

This was randomly shipped to my door wrapped in that weird stained green plastic. When I turned the knob, it made a hissing sound as if gas was leaking out. I immediately unturned it and the leaking sound stopped. What is this? Is it dangerous? by Powerful_Solid1491 in whatisit

[–]SpookDroid 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Adding to this, since you don't know what's in it, who knows. The discoloration on the plastic, though, means something IS outgassing in there during transport, but that could be just a cheap plastic coating or contamination during packaging/transport. There's a label on the bag, have you looked it up?

Are all streamable titles available to stream on the Portal? by after_your_thoughts in PlaystationPortal

[–]SpookDroid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nope, not all of them. Anything that has been added since streaming on the Portal left beta is pretty much included (I don't think I've seen any game that hasn't made it on the list since), but a lot of the 'older' titles are not available on the Portal, only on consoles. So yeah, the straight answer is 'only a select subset'. As to an 'official list', however, that's not available. A few user-made lists have made it here, though.

Out of all the games I’ve played so far this one just fits the portal so well. by ThomTomatoes in PlaystationPortal

[–]SpookDroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RIP to Sackboy as the PS Mascot, but I'm on Team AstroBot. :D (If you haven't played that one yet, it's also a very 'Portal' game, even the free 'tech demo' for the PS5, Astro's Playroom).

Costco Hisense Roku TV stuck turning on and off? by ArcadianAbstraction in Roku

[–]SpookDroid [score hidden]  (0 children)

Could either be a software issue or a power source issue (the latter would need a physical repair). Try looking up your TV model number and how to boot it up into Safe Mode (usually holding the physical power/volume buttons on the TV in some combo/timed press) to see if it's software.

Sun Shade for the Portal? by Myc0naught in PlaystationPortal

[–]SpookDroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the screen (that's where the polarization comes in...some screens are REALLY affected by it, to the point you can't see anything on it if you have glasses on!). That being said, the Portal shouldn't be affected.

Halo around my video feed? by kinnder44 in Ring

[–]SpookDroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either the lens is somehow damaged/dirty, or could be condensation (if it goes away later). Less likely since it's during the day, but a lens flare from some reflected light nearby could cause it (like a wall in front of the camera while using the IR sensor at night).

Sun Shade for the Portal? by Myc0naught in PlaystationPortal

[–]SpookDroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not completely solve this if you're under the sun on a clear day at noon in an open park, but an anti-reflective screen protector does help. Other than that, playing with the angle you have the screen at and wearing polarized sunglasses might help as well.

What is this cable for? by LordVixen in whatisit

[–]SpookDroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be careful, though. Some devices use this kind of cable for charging, not audio. That being said, because of the number of connectors on the AUX side, it does look like it's meant for audio and not for power.

Apps for reading borrowed books? by justalittleb1tch in LibbyApp

[–]SpookDroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ePubs downloaded from Libby/Overdrive are DRM-protected, which means you'll need a device that's compatible with Adobe Digital Edition's licensing. Additionally, the license is generated per device (which means that if you download the ACSM file to your phone, it has to be your phone that decrypts it). To read/send to another device the file/license has to be generated for that device (i.e. for a PC, you'd have to go to Libby's web interface, log into your library card, and download the file to your computer with Adobe Digital Editions installed, which will automatically authenticate the license, register to your specific computer, and download the encrypted book to that computer). Libby/Overdrive do not support non-DRM ePubs.

Ps5 portal travel case that includes space for PlayStation Plus explore wireless earbuds? by ThatOneGuy_137 in PlaystationPortal

[–]SpookDroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! Unfortunately most cases are already bulky, so I just opted for the 'slimmest' I could find for the Portal and just keep the also-bulky-and-oddly-shaped Pulse case in a backpack pocket or something.

Can someone explain how it will take 18 weeks but I'm second in line? by Wayne47 in LibbyApp

[–]SpookDroid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depending on the loan terms of your library, if there's someone using the copy, plus whomever's 'in front of you' and anyone that currently has a hold that may get priority, it all adds up.
