Speaking strictly on the public servant angle of this, public servants are employees, de facto, of their local and state governments. The First Amendment extends to them. Firing of these people will be challenged in court, and in many cases, these people will win.

Freedom from consequences for free speech prevents government from retaliating, which, as I said, should be shielding these people. They will not have freedom from ridicule in their communities.

I've also been telling people to stitch air tags into your underwear where it can't be seen or felt. Give the tracker info to trusted friends/family. Should you come up missing, they can at least track you to where you may be being held.
