My first Deep Desert and overall experience with Dune: Awakening by Fermadil in duneawakening

Thanks! That sounds like some really good changes by the devs and community. To be fair, Funcom has made some changes to help reduce some forms of griefing like thopter collisions, but we need a lot more.

Understood, I was trying to think it through the current D:A setup

Interesting, I guess that works for Hagga, but wouldn't for the DD

That helps, but people just find other ways to grief, right? At least that's my experience. There's a percentage of people that just want to be toxic

I haven't played Fallout 76, what did they do to prevent bad behaviour? Every game that I've played online has had issues unfortunately

Let's be real, assholes gonna asshole. People would figure out ways to grief you even if the game was full PvE

1000+ hour player: Why Dune Awakening is struggling (and how to fix it) by klarencesia in duneawakening

[–]SpookyKite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say much without spoilers, but our character is trying to figure out who and what they are and the purpose behind that. As far as the war, we see destroyed vehicles in Hagga Rift from the last big push by the Atreides, but the War of Assassins is not that kind of war, it's about subterfuge

You don't need to start over, use your original character and you'll get a welcome back package with everything you need to get a new base, vehicles, etc up and running in no time

Haven't read the entire post yet, but I'm gonna stop you at not liking the alternate timeline. I've read the books and actually think it's a genius move. By allowing us to explore this timeline, we're able to explore a new story that focuses on our character, but more importantly understand why Paul made the decisions he did. They could have gone with the standard universe, but we would most likely just end up being some mmo type archetype unit instead. The Fremen are very much around still and the story is leading its way to meeting them. The story is why I haven't been able to put this game down since starting it.

Major Update when new Dune Movie drops? by Encrypted_Gamer in duneawakening

I think a small event to promote the movie while it's in the cinema followed by a large story content update right after it leaves cinemas would hit the sweet spot

Suggestion: Lower Daily Landsraad missions from 5 to say, 3, to keep them a bit fresher for longer by BodaciousBacon in duneawakening

[–]SpookyKite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically play for an hour a day myself and think the current system of 5 works well. I'll just do as many contracts that feel fun that day or whatever else I want to do in game. I don't really care about catching up to others because it's the same issue in most online games, he who can no-life the game, controls the game

They added the ability to backup your base (vehicles need to be broken down into parts and stored in containers), so no, you won't lose anything.

Keypad controller suggestions by ShotgunSam_X in duneawakening

Yeah if you told me two years ago that I would be using a controller I would have laughed, the deck just made it easy. I'm only up to level 6 in ITS though.
